A Bar on a boat. or a Restaurant on a boat. I loved the idea. We went there on a saturday afternoon. For a relaxed dinner that might not have been the right time. The place was buzzing with a lot of people. Ordering food was quite difficult. But Although the food was there within minutes. So fast it was almost suspicious^^ The Burger and fries were nice but not crazy good. The price is a little too high for what you get. Conclusion: This place is probably a great location for a night out. Eating out(sober), would probably be better during the day.

I ate a late lunch at the Tamesis Dock(boat pub) in London, England on 5÷24÷2015. It was my 1st time there. I had their fish & chips(which came with peas) and a coke. The total bill was 11.95 pounds including tax & tip. Good food and good service in a unique setting on the river Thames. Plus, I took photos.

Wow wow wow!!! Yes it may not be the best food and drinks of all time but the food is decent, the hot chocolate lovely and the décor, views and vibe extraordinary! You all must go!

Living locally this place is always a hit with my group of friends, the staff are lovely and laid back adding to the chilled vibe. Their hand cut chips and prawn toast are the only things I’ve tried off the menu and they’re lush. Great vibe all year round, in winter they serve mulled cider and beer in quirky mugs and in the summer its all about the open top deck with views of Big Ben and London Eye.

After walking by this when I first moved to London, I really wanted to go in and check it out. This is a boat on the Thames that has been turned into a bar. From the outside it definitely looked like something I might like. A few weeks later, I stopped in during the day for a few drinks with a friend and we quite enjoyed it. It wasn’t at all crowded, but then again we were here on a fairly chilly winter day. You can sit outside or inside. Outside the views are great and we were particularly lucky to be there at sunset. Inside, you have the choice of sitting on two different levels. When it got to cold to sit outside, we sat on the upper level inside, which has standard tables to sit at. If you go downstairs, there are couches for seating. All in all a great venue. We had beers, but the place also served food. As we did’t try it, I won’t comment on it. All in all, I like this place and will be back again. In the cold weather when it’s not to crowded it is great. My only doubt is that it might get overly packed when it is warmer out.

I am pretty disappointed with my visit to the Tamesis Dock. When I heard about this place, the idea seemed so cool! Too bad it was a subpar experience. I came here with a friend for dinner and I haven’t seen her in a very long time. She suggested this place and I’ve heard about it so I gave it a go. There was live music that night, and it was not very great. The whole restaurant is on this tiny boat and the drums alone were so loud. Most of the time when the band was on stage, they were testing the sound. Microphones set so loud to overcompensate the drums bashing in an area with bad acoustics. It was a bit of a nightmare. I’m not a meanie for live music. I quite enjoy it. However, the set up of the Tamesis Dock is very small, so the music is very overpowering. There is a chance I just came on a bad night. Regardless, my food wasn’t very good, especially for the price. The menu was quite expensive for what the food is. My cheeseburger arrived luke warm and I didn’t find service from the bar staff to be very polite. Probably won’t come back here as my first initial impression was so awful. There are plenty of other nice pubs in Vauxall which serve food and have live music around the area. I would rather suggest to go elsewhere.

This place is really nice for a couple of drinks along the Thames especially during the summer. The view is really great, and you can stand outside. Actually I suggest to stay outside because is stink a bit inside since is a really small environment. Price are ok.

If you’ve read any of my other reviews, you’ll realize by now that I’m willing to forgive a lot if the staff is friendly, welcoming, and seems like they care about the customers. Unfortunately, it works in the other direction, as well. For a small, intimate show, this place is nice. The drink selection is okay, and it’s nice to have the cozy space to yourselves. It can be difficult to navigate when it’s crowded. But the staff literally drove us to leave and never come back. THISACTUALLYHAPPENED: A bartender sprayed me with lemonade. On purpose. I waited for my turn at the bar and ordered three drinks, all the same, nothing complicated. The bartender(whose name was Tom, we learned) turned the hose on me, soaking my shirt. He smirked at the guy next to me at the bar. «I’m sorry,» he began, and this is where I thought he was going to pretend it was an accident. But oh no, he went for it — «I’m sorry, I thought it was funny. You didn’t think it was funny?» No. No, I didn’t. Jerk. He offered to give me one of the drinks for free, but didn’t even do that. I paid my tab and went to get my friends and we left. I wish I would have thrown one of the drinks at him and said«sorry, I thought that was funny, didn’t you?» JERKJERKJERK x 1000000. I’m not trying to put anyone out of a job, but if there’s a way to make this bartender scrub toilets instead of tending bar(which he clearly shouldn’t be doing — I’ve never experienced such rude service in my entire life. He ruined my shirt and my evening!!), that would be AMAZING, and I’d love to see photos. Sad to say, avoid this place, based on the staff alone.

This is a pretty standard bar, but the fact it is a boat definitely adds some great atmosphere. The bar is upstairs while downstairs is space for seating and dancing. It isn’t the warmest place, so make sure you go there when it’s busy!

I like the view. I like being in this boat and eating nice food. Perfect place for casual and official dinner. Something very different than the other nice restaurants in London.

I love this place. When my partner and I got engaged, we couldn’t think of a better venue to host our wedding reception. And what a night we had! All our guests loved the boat. The views were spectacular and the food was brilliant. There were lots of compliments on the food from our guests. We love Tamesis Dock and it was just the most perfect evening for our big day! Thank you to everyone who worked so hard behind the bar :)

Great location on the Thames, the view gets most of the best sights. I come here if there is a gig on as it is such a nice place to experience music. I have learnt not to sit near the bathrooms as the doors bang every time someone goes through, which can be irritating if you are watching a gig.

People seem to only have a problem with this place if they are expecting a grand, QE2-style boating experience when they come on board. If you see it for what it is i.e. a floating(or at least ’tilting’) pub in what is otherwise a bit of a watering-hole wasteland, then you’ll probably love it. I particularly like popping in here for food(above deck on warm days!) because I think it’s pretty decent grub, and they do a mean veggie-burger. Good for parties too, as you can use the sound system

This is one of my favourite summer watering holes. I’m somewhat partial to a pint, a fish finger sarnie, the view, and a nice river breeze. I’ve always been a daytime visiter, so can’t comment on the evening entertainment or special events, but I’d certainly consider it. The staff have always provided a little banter and the prices are standard for the area.

As a stranger to London looking for somewhere different to have a drink I came across this ‘Watering Hole’ bar. For a while found it difficult to get used to the angle of the place as it sits on a sand bank during low tide but after a few very good pints of Grolsch the angle was soon compensated by my angle. The entertainment was a little fringe and different but enjoyable and I have to say the clientelle very friendly. The food offered was varied and very reasonably priced. Yes I agree the toilets leave a lot to be desired but served their purpose adequately… I had a good night… would I go again… yes 1st week in October when next in London.

Can’t comment on the events here, but this isn’t a bad place to stop for a drink on a sunny afternoon — great view, and pleasantly quirky. Be prepared to sit on the slant though — quite disconcerting !

This is a great venue in terms of London situation, especially when you can relax outside and enjoy the view. Be aware: We recently held an event on the boat and ordered a buffet. The buffet was £15/head and we spent over £300 on food. What came out looked like a £30 buffet from Iceland. We were incredibly disappointed. If you are booking an event on the boat, please be aware of this.

The very first thing I noticed was that, as the tide was out and therefore the barge sat on it’s sandbank, it was at a very noticeable slant, which made everything a little disorientating. And things went a downhill from there. :( Firstly, we had booked a table for 6:30pm for a friend’s birthday. It wasn’t ready until 7:15pm and there was little communication from the staff about what was happening. This caused us to stand by the bar in the rather cramped space for 45min. Secondly the food was awful. I had ordered some nachos to share with everyone for a £6.95. the dish arrived cold and was incredibly sloppy. The guacamole was not fresh and tasted salty, as if(and I wouldn’t be surprised) it had come from some low-cost catering tub. The cheese had cooled all hard making it rather difficult to eat, which also gave the impression that it had been sitting in the kitchen pre-prepared for some time! We weren’t even offered cutlery or napkins meaning I had to go to the bar to ask. Needless to say, none of us could bring ourselves to finish this rather revolting dish. Nachos are not a difficult thing to get right, but Tamesis Dock got it terribly wrong! Thirdly, the toilets were a little vile. The men’s cubicle wasn’t working, and the state of the urinal left much to be desired. Also, «décor» in the toilets was basically a load of pebbles on the wall held against it with polyfiller! 0. o Other than that it was an alright place for drinking. drinks prices are above reasonable(about £4 a pint) with a fair range of beers and spirits, but I can think of much nicer places nearby that I would rather go to. I can imagine it being better in the summer when you can sit on the top rather than everyone crammed into the dark tight inside space whilst it’s raining outside.

I have to agree with ahunter. When i first walked in on new years eve, i thought to myself is this it?. Its an old barge on a bank of silt that doesnt really ever start floating when the tide comes in. I can imagine this place being awesome in the summer time, as the outside seating area was really nice and with an amazing view of westminster. However, if you we talking specifically about NYE, i have no idea how they could justify 50 pounds for a view that everyone a long the road that the boat was perched against were getting for free. The food was truly awful, and badly set out, making it almost impossible to get to the overflowing bathroom through the throngs of people trying to get at the iceland nibbles
