Tally Ho Fish Restaurant

My son says this shop has the best chips in London. I’m not sure about that but this is a great place. Definitely above average but very economical.

My mum tells me this place has been here for years! She say’s she used to come all the way from Mill Hill to sit and have an afternoon of fish and chips and tea about 20 years ago. Well it must be good as it is still around so I thought I would give it a try.
I ordered sausage and chips to take away. They were very generous with the portion size which I actually could not finish. The chips were average and not really anything special — I was anticipating better ie crisp but fluffy. Instead they were abit soft and almost soggy (I suppose it depends how you like your chips ?!).
I noticed they had a good sized seating area and a special deal for pensioners (I must tell my mum). The service was quick but not very friendly.
All in all not bad but for such a long standing establishment I was kinda hoping for something special.
