The club is in the basement, lots of different rooms with its own bars. Great place to go if you just want to dance. Great fun with groups and parties. Security strict on bags and coats on seats/floor, must check into cloakroom at £2 an item, so regulars bring a large holdall or gym bag and stuff as much into one bag so class as one item! Constant long queues at the cloakroom though either checking in or taking out.

Went to Sway bar today and realised why students like going to this place. A trendy set up within two rooms, one with old tunes from the 80s and the other room with the recent charts, RnB and hip hop. You will see a lot of drunk people and sometimes dancers around. It was a good experience but can leave it for students!

Sway will either be a great night out or your worst nightmare, depending on your age and potentially social class. Drinks are relatively cheap, people are drunk and dancing and there are a lot of hen nights happening around you. Drunk bridezillas can be scary… There’s a room with a cheesy colourful dance floor that plays 80s and 90s songs and one that plays more modern RnB tracks, hip hop and the latest charts. It’s like a cheap student night but for older people. If you like dancing and don’t mind any kind of crowd I’d say go for it, otherwise you may want to go for another club that will be more classy(as far as nightclubs go anyway).

This is a fairly standard bar/club in london. They have two main dance floors with different music so thats great if you are in a big group. the drinks are ok but need to taste better. The toilets are pretty good as far as london clubs go and unlike lots of london places there is actually SPACE to dance! always have a good night there.

My colleague suggested that we go to Sway on a Friday afternoon for fish and chips lunch. We originally wanted to go to Leon but the queue was so long! When we got there, Sway was not busy and it was quiet. The waiter told us that they were having problems with their grill so certain items on the menu would not be available. We ordered a plate of fish and chips each £8.95. The fish and chips was one of the worse I had ever had! There were still some bones in the fish fillet. The fish was not fresh. It definitely did not taste like cod but a cheaper species of fish, sold to customers as cod or haddock. I was struggling to enjoy my Friday lunch treat. The service was very good but the food was bad. It was a horrible experience for lunch, so I will not return.

This is a great place to go for a dance on the weekends. There are so many different rooms with lots of different music genres playing that there is absolutely something for everyone. The boogie wonderland section with the lit up dance floor is always a lot of fun, though not always a lot of room to dance as it gets very busy. There is a coat check at the door which is only a pound or two per item. The music is pretty decent though the club certainly gets a bit messy as the hours wear on! I’d certainly go back!

Nope. When this place was suggested as part of our work Christmas party I looked at the website and thought, ‘I DONOT want to go to there’. But you can’t really pull rank on a Christmas party without being the office jerk. So to Sway we went. And it was everything I had imagined and less. Sticky floors, sticky tables, crap music and overpriced drinks.

Oh boy, what can I say about this hell hole. Music is your typical pop and disco music as with every west end easy access bar/club, but its the service you get or not get in most cases which will keep you away. The doormen have this under paid complex where they begrudge anyone spending money and assuming everyone is acting like a big shot as demonstrated by their main man Ray the doorman. Ordering drinks, was another mission, it seems they are employing staff with a basic level of English; asked for a bar tab and the bartender looked at me with a blank face. Had to tell the bartender five times before i gave up and saw a supervisor who translated to him what i was requesting. They should really issue translation books at the door if this is going to be the norm when ordering drinks. Man, I haven’t been Sway for six years, I think it needs another six before a return. It’s a shame, I use to go there a lot when it just opened, now its just a easy night out, with non-English speaking rude staff.

‘Well this place looks like a brothel’. My first thoughts upon entering Sway and they haven’t changed much since. This place just has ‘chain-pub’ written all over it, absolutely zero character but apparently huge pretensions. While we were there, they had a speed flatmating event on. Classy place. I hear it’s a nightclub as well, shudder! The bathrooms definitely give that vibe off. It’s a big bar, so lots of space if you are in a group of people. They have red leather booths and a huge bar wrapping around. I spotted a lot of burgers and pub food zipping past.

I went to Sway Bar About 2 Months ago and got placed in Grovey Wonderland which was a very funky room with a Michael Jackson light up dance floor, Bar service was decent but most bars in the area were packed so it was acceptable. The young lady on the door showed me to our area which we had Pre-booked to save standing around. The music was great, loved the atmosphere . had a good night and would deffo go again

I’ve only been for a happy hour, and even that experience was lacking. Multiple floors for the entire club. First floor was where the happy hour was, and the service was horrible!

I was at Sway bar a few nights ago as part of a big party in one of the downstairs rooms(the Milk Bar, to be specific). I mention this because it means that I obviously had a bit of an unusual experience, but there are some things I can comment on that I think are general about the place. First, the service was quite good, considering how busy and big of a group we were. The bartenders were able to quickly make drinks, handle transactions, and patiently put up with a whole lot of increasingly drunk people who basically didn’t want to go home(woo, end of finals!). The drinks themselves were alright – pretty high priced, though I guess that’s part and parcel with the neighborhood. We also had a chance to try food, which was great bar food – wings, pizza, fries, etc. All of it was piping hot and very tasty! Overall, it was nice enough – I had a good time dancing and letting go of some stress. I’m not sure it’s my typical cup of tea, but it’s a good place if you’re into cocktail bars with a little bit of funkiness to them.

Sway has a decent bar upstaris and 2 dance floors downstairs, each with different music playing. One of them has a fancy disco dance floor and scantily clad ladies are paid to dance there and entice others onto the floor. It’s open late but needs a big crowd to keep the atmosphere alive. Drinks are pricey and watch out for bar staff who will come and take your half-finished cocktail away if you leave it unattended for more than 5 seconds.

Came to Sway for dinner(toptable– 50% off) before a show. It was a lot nicer than I thought it would be, however it took some time for them to find our table as they had lost our table allocation. We ordered a round of cocktails under happy hour(50% off till 7.30) and received our starter of garlic ciabatta bread. It was a nice starter, but strangely reminded me of popcorn… It is at this point when a bus load of school children came in. There were about 50 school children on a trip to London who all bowled in with the usual kids chatter. It made us feel a little like chaperones, being in a «swanky» bar/restaurant with kids… but on the most part they all behaved. When the food came it looked quite nice. We ordered steaks, fajita, and the Thai green curry. It was all quite average, but still tasty. When then bill arrived we all agreed that the food was definitely not worth the full price, but we were quite happy with our 50% off bill. Might come back for a few after work drinks.

Emmmm! Hmmmm! The only reason I was in here was because a friend has just move to London and another friend wanted to show him«a good time!» Hmmmm! I do not do clubs and this reminded me just why. I have never seen so many almost dress, staggering drunk ladies(I use the term loosely) in a while. It felt like a scene from one of those undesirable reality shows. Fake tan, fake eyelashes, fake boobs… On a positive I do like that it has multiple rooms with different music playing in each. The décor is nice too. Not somewhere I’ll be visiting again but that’s more to personal taste rather than is being a bad place. If you fancy a bit of a dance, and some ‘Made in get me out of here Big Essex’ eye candy with a side order of cheesy music(one room), you’ll love it!

I didn’t hate Sway at all! In fact, I would have given it 4 stars if it hadn’t been for the bimbos dancing in the entryway when we arrived. Um. Huh? I seriously thought I might be at a strip club. And considering that most of the clientele on this particular evening were women, it was just confusing to have to walk past this gauntlet of young girls in too-tight outfits and way too much make-up…well…swaying…as you walked into the joint. Still, the allure of the free drink token called to us, and we did end up thinking the place was pretty nice. If you’ve got a big group that needs a good sized booth to share, this was a handy meet-up place. It wasa very clean and trendy looking inside. I liked the vibe. I didn’t stay late enough to know for sure whether it was that great as far as music goes, but it wasn’t a bad place to hang out for an hour or two at all.

I just spent my new years eve here, the memories are fresh and so is the pain so this is probably the best time to write this review. The crowd are unfriendly, people barge past you without thinking twice, often trying to push you out of the way. Thank God I’m 6’2″ and weigh 90kg(so I’m not that easy to push around), I wonder what little people must feel like. I’ve been left with 3 cuts to my arm, some idiot decided it would be fun to throw a glass across the room on the dancefloor, have no idea who it was, it landed one someones head, got smashed and fell on my arm. The broken pieces cut me in 3 places. They weren’t major cuts, just minor scraps that caused blood to slowly ooze out. I just hope the guy who got hit in the head with it didn’t get any in his eyes. You may be thinking, it’s not really the management’s fault that the punters are idiots, well, if you ask me, more visible security would have helped idiots from behaving in such a way. To their credit, the bouncers were quite helpful and were very prompt with the first aid. I’m giving this 2 stars and not 1 because this could have been a one-off due to new years eve drunks, which doesn’t reflect the normal clientele.

Where do I begin? After living in London for 6 months, it was about time to check out the club scene. The pros: +several rooms with various music options +big space, not too packed +diverse crowd The cons: –expensive drinks –coat check was at full capacity at 9pm –too many private parties, limited access to rooms –queues It wasn’t what I expected out of a Girls Night Out, but it was alright. Not sure if I’d come back though…

I’m sorry but I don’t like Sway. There I’ve said it. Please can we stop having nights out here??! The drinks are over priced to the max and the sort of people that you find here are usually on hen nights in policewoman outfits complete with plastic batons and mockney accents. No, I don’t want to do a £5 jello shot. I dont want to dance to techno music on broken glass while being elbowed as miss overly-tanned makes out with mr overly-bejewelled. I don’t want to be compelled to smoke a million cigarettes so I can be outside of the place I paid £8 to get into(at a discounted rate!) I don’t want to go here ever again.

Sway is the kind of place you can go for a night club or a good meal out. I was invited to a private party here, it is the kind of place I would have never found by myself. There are several lounges here. I was in what they call the Suede room which was really warm in its peach and beige décor — beautifully done. There was a huge choice of drinks with a really impressive Champagne list. The Moet was pretty steep at almost 50 quid a bottle, nether the less it is worth getting a bottle just to enjoy in such nice surroundings. I was lucky on this night as it was bought for me :). I will definitely come back here and perhaps try the food menu(which is European and diverse) next time. Sway is a good place for a posh night out.
