Not happy at all with the service from south beach. I went to get my eye brows threaded and when I got home I noticed there were a lot of stray hair still there that the lady hadn’t got. I was very disappointed as I thought they would have been good as there eye brow threading is £7. Not worth going to!

I’ve been to South Beach twice now and had to completely different experiences. Overall, I think with all businesses in England, it’s best to go at off-peak times. You’ll always get better service. Visit 1: Randomly stopped in for an eyebrow threading. It was about 4pm on a dreary Saturday. The place was busy. Like, really, really busy. There were two people ahead of me in the threading queue so I took a seat on the sofa, with the giant white German Shepherd at my feet and in-between the two cats. The other giant black German Shepherd was across the room sleeping. These two dogs are the most gentle, passive dogs I’ve ever met. They are just so lovely.(I believe the owners live above or behind the shop because the dogs«live» in the salon when it’s not open — they are guard dogs, after all.) Anyway, I waited approximately 20 minutes and then was whisked back into the treatment room. I spent my time waiting looking at the lovely coffee table book, «The Life and Love of Dogs». The price for an eyebrow threading was £5. It was OK. I’d describe it as «I got what I paid for.» I’d not go back for an eyebrow threading, especially since I see they have increased their price to £8. It felt rushed and I sort of got the feeling like the woman owner running the shop does so with military precision — next! Next! Next! She was relaxed and intense all at the same time. It was an impersonal experience but I also understood that I stopped in at a very busy time of day. 1 star. Side note: The reason for my visit, originally, was to book a facial because they are the only beauty salon in Chiswick which offers Dermalogica products. And I was once told by a Dermalogica beautician that in order to give Dermalogica facials, one must be certified by Dermalogica. Whether that is true or not is yet to be proven. Visit 2: Arrived at my appointed time for my facial, 9:30am on a Thursday. The place was empty and I was greeted by the male owner. He’s a super nice guy, chill, and conversational. I was immediately brought back to the treatment room where I chatted with the beautician on what facial to get. I decided on the 30-minute mini facial for £40. This included a scrub, crystal microdermabrasion, and hydrating mask. It was nice. It didn’t feel rushed like my eyebrow threading did. I would definitely return for another facial. I think it was good value for money and my face feels smooth and looks shiny! 5 stars. Given my two visits and two entirely different ratings for those visits, my average would settle at 3 stars, however, since booking during off-peak is in my control, I’m bumping up the rating to 4 stars.
