ShakeTastic

Anybody that knows me knows that I have a mild obsession with smoothies. If i lived anywhere near this place, i’d be a daily customer for sure.
The menu is decidedly more geared towards shakes than smoothies, but seeing as the name is ShakeTastic, i think that makes sense. Tons and tons of shake options, if that’s what you’re going for, but for me it wasn’t.
My sister, boyfriend and I browsed over our smoothie options for a few moments, impressed with ingredient selections you really can’t find in the states? Finally i decided on one featuring lychee. Well, i thought i did. Unfortunately i accidentally read the name of the one below and ended up with a smoothie made of melon and cucumber. I was VERY upset on the inside, but i didn’t let it show as it was obviously my fault rather than the storeowners. I walk out the door, expecting my morning smoothie experience to be ruined. Long story short, it wasn’t!!! In fact, it was a fresh, delicious experience that would bring me back for seconds in a heartbeat. Way to go ShakeTastic! I’ll be back someday, I swear.

Yes, I know the great heatwave of last weekend is over but in the name of Unilocal research, I still hit this milkshake & juice bar in search of a cold drink.
They have a bewildering array of drinks, which they have tried to arrange in categories on their large menu board. There are the healthier fresh juices, available with various additives as well as decadent milkshakes. Judging from the impressive array of confectionery on the back wall, I think they can add just about anything decadent that you desire to your milkshake.
I opted for one of their signature milkshakes, which are all priced at £3.95. I chose the Bannoffee Bliss, which contains banana and toffee sauce, blended with their soft scoop ice cream and sprinkled with nuts on top of whipped cream. They also smeared the inside of the cup with toffee sauce.
It was delicious and I didn’t need hoover lips to suck it up. It’s a shame their branches are all in north London.
