I only wish I could’ve discovered the Seven Dials area a bit sooner because it is so cool. This area is a little village within London that escapes some of the rampant tourism that surrounds it, meaning that you get to see and feel the local London vibe that folks who live in the area get to enjoy everyday. The Seven Dials district has awesome shopping –not just standard retail stuff, good food options and pubs in the area, and of course, the actual 6-dial sundial in the middle of the intersection where seven streets converge. I can’t stress this enough. The food and shopping in this cozy district is less mainstream, which gives you nice options that are different from the standard London fare. There are plenty of independent spots in the area and that makes this one of my favorite spots in London. Can’t wait to make it back here!

Fun place to shop for a few less mainstream, as well as mainstream, brands. Worth checking out.

I didn’t realise this was a tourist attraction until my uncle was determined to find it when he was travelling here. Or I just thought covent garden was just that amazing with all its little corners etc. I still get lost, but I guess it’s a good thing if most of it leads back to the seven dials?

Yet Another Iconic London micro-neighborhood with several helpful illuminated maps showing shops, restaurants, lodging. Navigation can be tricky, but getting somewhat lost is throughly recommended.

People who hang out at the sun dial during the day look like jobless twats. I like hanging out at the sun dial during the day. I look like a jobless twat(?).

Seven Dials is a fashionable shopping district just north of Covent Garden. Its centre is the famous sundial column at the confluence of 7 streets. Curiously the sundial only has 6 dials. The current column is a replacement column built to the original specifications and was opened by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands in 1989. The surrounding streets contain a great collection of boutique shops, theatres, food shops, restaurants, pubs and hotels. Almost everyone will find something to enjoy here. I personally enjoy the gelato at Scoop and cheese from Neals Yard. This area is what makes shopping in this part of London different and memorable.
