Good but could be a lot better! This gold-mine of a sea-food restaurant has been open for a few years now and I recently had an opportunity to eat there. Firstly, the good stuff: The food was absolutely excellent with an extensive menu(including non-fish dishes), the staff were really friendly, the background music was just right and the atmosphere perfect. There was a lovely fresh hot roll with butter and a small dish of juicy green and black olives as a pre-appetizer. Portions were a good size, well presented and the fish was really fresh and had an excellent flavour. The mediocre stuff: Service was a little slow and we were stuck down in the corner next to the toilet. There were 4 waiters for 15 diners and they hovered around as if you were about to steal the paintings! The let down: The prices were way over the top for what we received and what you don’t realise when looking through the menu posted by the door is that the dish price doesn’t include vegetables etc. all are over-priced extras. I’m surprised that there wasn’t a charge for using the knife and fork! If you want a basic palatable wine you’re looking at £20 minimum. So, in brief, if you have deep pockets and want a pricey but good-quality meal then this is the place for you. If you want to pay off your mortgage a year earlier but still want a good-value good-quality fresh fish meal then go to the Plaza just along the parade! Sorry Seshell!
