It was so dissapointing that I am not even motivated to explain why. I mean, yes it is upscale, it is located in a fancy neighborhood, it is very expensive BUTWHY would you serve these underwhelming, over salted and tasteless dishes? We were 8 and beside the lasagna dish and the veal with lemon and butter, the other dishes we had were really mediocre. I don’t even want to talk about the dessert but man, how can you screw up the profiteroles? Maybe that was an off day for me or for them or maybe I was expecting more from such place. And needless to say that I won’t be returning as London has too many good restaurants to lose your time in an overrated one.

We visited Scalini about a month ago with couple of friends. We ordered approximately 3 – 4 appetizers, a bottle of red, 4 different mains and 2 types of desserts. Our meal was delicious however I didn’t think it was outstanding. One of the down sides of our night was the service though. Besides getting spilled wine on me, our waiter actually dropped a full glass of water near my foot, which broke in shatters and we literally had to pick up the glasses ourselves to make sure no one will step on them. Other tables were sort of staring at us during our struggle so I’m quite positive that wait staff also witnessed our performance but we only received a mere ‘sorry’ in return. I think Scalini will do just fine as there seems to be a lot of fans of the restaurant out there but we will definitely not be coming.

Delicious food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to. They were very accommodating regarding a gluten allergy and offered a delicious GF pasta and incredible GF desserts.

You walk into Scalini, and immediately you feel at home. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere, cosy and upscale. One of my favourite parts about Scalini is the Italian men who work there. They treat everyone as if they are a regular, guiding you to your bruschetta and olive covered table. The menu at Scalini is vast, but my favourite dish is the pasta fagoli soup. It is not pricey, and can be a whole meal. The desserts at Scalini are fenominal, as is the alcohol selection. The food is full of flavour and when ever I leave Scalini, I find myself wanting more, sometimes to the point of ordering takeaway from the restaurant the next day. Scalini is a true Chelsea gem.

My family and I had an amazing time here on a Saturday night. The smoked Scottish salmon was super fresh as an app. I had the breaded veal with a spicy spaghetti on the side for my main and lemme tell u… that combo was excellent. The veal was super thin and very nicely cooked. The breading had that very faint crunch to it without overpowering the meat. The spicy spaghetti along side of the veal was a perfect compliment. Very tasty tomato sauce. The wine and service were excellent. Mario is just a baller, plain and simple. Holler at him and tell him jon from the states sent you.

Excellent food, wonderful service. Prices are a little on the high side, but hey, this is London!

The host was generous enough to squeeze the two of into what was apparently a full Thursday evening service without a reservation. The ambiance while you wait is a bit ridiculous since you are left in a narrow hallway and have to move back and forth when diners are trying to get past you on their way in or out. Once inside we were seated in a very lively and friendly atmosphere, and were immediately intercepted by a waiter to help us with the seating and to take our drink order. Olives and bruschetta were brought to the table gratis — not the norm back in the States. Surprisingly our meal came out within the expected window of time considering the busy evening: Veal Milanese — best I’ve ever had and I’ve been having this from time to time for decades at some of the best places around for this dish. Ok so it’s just breaded veal but if you use great veal and cook it well it really is heaven! Veal Scallopini with Artichoke — just as well made and very tasty. Side of spaghetti marinara — wow this sauce was made with such care it too was maybe the best I’ve had. Now the slight downside, the waitstaff was swarming over a couple of VIP tables and did not return to ours or some others nearby without flagging them down. It appears other reviewers had this experience as well. Still this was the best — and yes the most costly — Italian meal I’ve had in years.

We had lunch today, our 4th visit in the last 10 years. It’s has an attractive inside décor and is very cozy, the tables are tightly spaced. The service is very attentive, but sometimes when they get busy, you have to get their attention. We have always had fantastic pasta and delightful meals. Today, we had the the pasta with clams, the prosciutto and melon, and the lamb kidneys. All were excellent. We have really enjoyed our meals at Scalini’s and will return again.

Nice Italian restaurant few minutes from Brompton Road. The food it’s amazing. Can be really crowded sometimes, so necessary a booking. The only down point it’s about the waiters in the moment that it’s bussy they are not very attentive and considering how many they are this shouldn’t happen.

Scalini London– Definitely the best in the Knightsbridge/Chelsea area. Compared to many other restaurants in this quarter the prices are reasonable and the quality does meet the standards. I wouldn’t consider it as super«upscale» because the food looks more casual but food was amazing, considering that there are tons of good Italian restaurants in town. The pasta, the meat and the dessert were all amazing while the service was also pretty good. btw, I’ve been here two times and both of the taxi drivers headed straight here without asking the address.

This restaurant is my favourite italian restaurant in London, having tried most of them in the Knightsbridge area, this one is the best from quality of food and service! Other restaurants in the area have started lacking in either food or service but Scalinj has maintained it. The lovely restaurant owner has been singing and smiling in the restaurant since my parents would take me as a baby and he did a wonderful job of singing for my 30th at this visit :) Gem of Knightsbridge, I will always enjoy coming here. It is pricey but well worth it in my opinion.

very posh yet so cozy~ the staff really make an effort to be professional and accommodating~ You definitely feel special if someone takes you here~ =) reservations are a must~ food is good~ a bit salty for my tastes honestly~ I loved that it was so cozy though~good use of mirrors and pretty orchids adorning the tables~ although it was kind of a small place~ it was very posh~ the table set up was up to par and décor is nice as well~ the table olives and bruschetta were awesome! very big juicy olives~ we started with the buffalo mozerella & langoustines~ then i had the seafood spaghetti which had a very good selection of seafood in it~ But i could barely finish the spaghetti~ then… we shared a Tiramisu which was the BEST… with a cup of coffee~ the only reason I give it 3 stars is because i thought the food was a bit salty~ BUT… the person I went with says it’s his favorite restaurant~ =) What I liked: 1. Ambiance 2. olivess & bruschetta 3. Tiramisu

Same quality of food since I knew this restaurant not like other restaurant in the area. Always nice crowd, waiters and managers are super nice and try they best to give the full experience! I prefer it for lunch, then a nice walk around the area.

My friends and I literally stumbled on this restaurant on our way to South Kensington for food — but we were so hungry that we just decided to give it a try. Very dated décor and an authentic Italian feel to it — seemed to be frequented by the neighbourhood(it’s smack in the heart of Chelsea). We were brought a place of bruschetta/olives for the table — didn’t realise until the bill came that it would be £3 a head for the cover. £12 pounds for 4 people for some olives and tomato bread? Overcharging in my opinion. This place is expensive. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for paying exorbitant amounts of money for good food, but 20 pounds for seafood linguine — calamari, few clams, a few flakes of fish. 20POUNDS for that?! It was tasty, with tomato based sauce… but geez, for the sparse amount of seafood it’s definitely NOT worth 20 pounds. At least if there was a piece of lobster I could justify the price, not to mention I can get a similar/if not better dish for half the price at most Italian places! My friend had the lamb chops(£25ish if I remember correctly) — you get ¾ pieces, and a side of «seasonal vegetable»(translation: carrots and broccoli) will set you back another £4. No alcohol, pasta, olives, service set me back £26. It actually pained me to pay. Give me £26 and I can probably make a nice big seafood casserole and afford to throw in some fresh pasta too.

I was brought to Scalini one cold, rainy night after a week of practically starving to death due to picky eating. The food was fantastic and I quickly made up for the lack of calorie-intake from earlier in the week. My meal was flavorful, the service was lovely and one word(and this brings a tear to my eye as I recall the experience)…CHEESECAKE! I have had many a cheesecake in my day, in fact I feel like it’s a personal mission to try every cheesecake that graces this earth, and I can safely say that this is the BEST cheesecake I have ever had. I am quite sure that the cheesecake here is perhaps«the best in the world». If it hasn’t won an award already for«best cheescake ever», I’d be shocked. More than 6 months later, I still talk about this cheesecake and dream about ways to somehow get it shipped to me in dry ice. All in all, great restaurant; See you there next time I’m in London, and if we’re dining together, please understand that we’ll be starting and ending the meal with dessert(guess which one;)
