I have to add to the reviews of Laura N. and Kate H. I have read both of the ladies’ reviews before booking an appointment with Sara Matthews.
Sara’s assistant Julia (I guess she has replaced Jill?) is the loveliest woman you meet. It was easy to book an appointment and I only had to wait a week. Now, I can go on forever what a nice atmosphere and place it is but we all know that the deal is really down to the gynecologist.
Sara really knows her stuff. I am always a little skeptical with gynecologist as I have visited both private and NHS in the past and have visited one lady named Mrs. Wilson. The visit left me traumatized! This gynecologist when you google her has more letters behind her name than one could imagine. She has 2 written books and a lot of other stuff too yet my experience with her was so horrible I would NEVER-​EVER recommend anyone going to her. I am sorry to drop in names but since Mrs. Wilson and Sara Matthews are private gynecologists, spend your money well, on the person who will actually help you and be approachable.
Coming back to Sara, she is very easy to talk to, she explains things very well and gives tips on what to do and what not. You can spot a doctor that really knows their stuff straight away and the beauty of the visit is that she spotted the issue straight away! No b******t chit chat about irrelevant things, although don’t get me wrong she is very fun to talk to! She definitely has a great sense of humor. From there she suggested and advised further tests that might need to be done. Now, one can argue that it’s more money to her but in reality if you have a problem its best to get tested for everything rather than not knowing and developing something down the line.
Another good thing about Sara is that she always suggests doing an HPV test along with a Smear test. I am one of those people who scream on top of my voice that I don’t have anything and I have been in long relationships BUT again its health that just has to be tested once or twice a year. If you already made an appointment and you are there, its just better to get it done. A lot of gynecologists don’t suggest an HPV test and you sort of think well if he/​she doesn’t think its necessary then I wont do it. And from MY experience NHS doesn’t test for HPV unless you go to the right place and book an appointment etc etc. In most walk-​in clinics it isn’t one that you’d be tested for.
And finally, if you want a more detailed overview of what is happening as Laura N. says in your ‘hoo hah’ you can have a pelvic scan. The machine is in the same office/​room and it costs a little under £200. You will get all the info, if it all looks ordinary, what doesn’t if so and what can be done. Also this is a bit obvious, but what is happening with your ovaries, how many eggs you have on each side etc etc. I am quite young and not thinking of pregnancy for now but it is always good to know at any age what your options are.
So ladies I hope this helps in search for a perfect gynecologist. Sara Matthews definitely lived up to all the previous reviews and more!

Is it strange to review your gynecologist? Probably. But if Miss Laura N. hadn’t bravely gone before, I would probably never have known about Sara; and that would be a shame, as she’s a very, very good lady doctor. Does she have a crap ton of letters behind her name? Yes, she does. That’s a good thing; it means she knows her stuff.
She’s definitely not your typical, buttoned-​up doctor type. The day I saw her, she was wearing a fairly provocatively cut lime green dress and super high, hot pink heels. I loved her immediately. She’s the most knowledgeable, tall, leggy blonde I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Like I said before, she really does know her stuff. She can answer any and all of your questions about any and all things lady-​part related. Sara also gives great referrals for people like me, who have no knowledge of the private doctor system. She gave me an excellent dermatologist rec.
She also has a great assistant, Jill, who is super fast with the prescription refill requests and really good with the insurance paperwork. This crack team is the best!

Ahh, the opportunities looming in this review! However for the sake of all that is decent and sacred, I’ll keep this one as clean and straight forward as possible … mostly.
Ladies:
There are good lady-​doctors. Even great lady-​doctors. But on the gynecological yardstick of glory, Doctor Sara Matthews is at the pinnacle. The climax, if you will.
First, she’s hilarious. (I mean, I guess you’d have to be to stare at hoo-​hahs all day and still kiss your loved ones at night, right?) She’s completely down to Earth and makes an effort to actually get to know her patients. Yes, she puts a face with a va-​jay-​jay, which is more than I can say for most. (That goes for men as well as doctors.)
An unwavering professional, she was willing to listen to my boy dilemmas and reassure me that although long-​distance relationships are both admirable and romantic, as well as a gynecologist’s dream, that waiting for months at a time was just too damn long for, umm, needs. She than swiftly whipped up a prescription, you know, just in case. And for the, uh, headaches …
I couldn’t be happier spreading the good word!
