One of my friends lives in Teddington, and his family organised a surprise 21st for him here. We arrived earlier(of course!), got a few drinks in and waited downstairs in the function room that had been reserved for us for him to get here, shouting Surprise! and exploding party poppers over him as he walked through the door. It was a great night in a fantastic venue! Drinks were very good and not incredibly pricey, though of course this is London! I was expecting a sit down meal but was very surprised and happy to find that they had laid on a buffet for us. Hot chicken drumsticks and sausages, bread, tortilla chips, dips and a few other things I can’t remember filled a table and we tucked in, gorging ourselves. Just as we thought we’d eaten the last sausage, they refilled the table and of course we all went back for fourths, fifths and maybe sixths for a few people there was that much food, and it was all delicious. There was even a band there drummer, bass and guitar, with three female singers. The band was very good, even if a couple of the singers were a bit shaky with the harmonies, but all in all we had a great time in this little basement, eating to our hearts content and dancing the night away, occasionally going upstairs to get a drink and top up our vitamin D too!
