The Service in the Sahara grill is outstanding, our waiter was polite, patient, knowledgable and friendly. One of our party was very indecisive but this did not cause any problems and the waiter handled the situation faultlessly . The food was very tasty and overall we had a great evening!

A great place for a nice dinner with friends or family. The menu is full of meat dishes, but if you are a vegetarian you don’t have to worry, as they also offer meat-free dishes. But honestly even if you aren’t a meat lover this place will change your mind. They cook everything with fresh ingredients and always prepare it in a very unique way. I would definitely recommend trying out the beef steak and having a suitable glass of wine with it. In case you don’t know which wine will go with your dish you can always ask the staff for assistance, they are all very polite and friendly and always ready to help you out. I can only say that this is a great restaurant, that offers tasty food at reasonable prices.

Firstly, you have to get past the fact that Sahara Grill is in Leyton, which isn’t exactly the most… touristic part of town. After a while though, you’ll get used to the occasional blue lights from emergency vehicles whizzing by, and watching random carrier bags flying past through the large windows of the restaurant. Sahara Grill has a slick, modern interior which looks completely out of place in this part of town — it gives the aura of classiness in the drabness of the high street. Upon entering, we were warned that for a few minutes later in the evening, the waiting staff would be unavailable because of prayers, which is totally understandable, and actually quite nice to see a venue which gives it’s staff the opportunity to worship. I know some may scream«But this is Britain!!!11», to which I say, ‘Shut up and sit your arse back down’. Part of being British is welcoming and respecting others’ culture. So onto the food — I order the hot wings to share, and 5 of them came in a long plate. They were bigger than your average wings, and an emphasis on the ‘Hot’. They definitely had a kick to them — probably not a wise choice if you’re sensitive to hot chilli, but I loved them!(My date, not so much. ahem), For the main, I went for a Beef Rump steak and chips. The steak however came out rather flattened and wasn’t quite as large as I was hoping it to be. It tasted okay, but lacked the smoky flavour, and the texture was a little odd. I was pretty underwhelmed, I’m afraid. All in all, Sahara Grill looks like one of the better places to dine out in Leyton, but doesn’t really rate in comparison to other restaurants in London.

This place does the best halal T-bone steaks ever. A little bit pricy but amazing quality. Staff are really friendly but it is a small restaurant so sometimes hard to get in.

Nice place, especially for the area which is full of grease monkey kebab joints, but a bit over priced :(. If you can travel around London a bit you can find better, but the lack of decent places in east London means this place is great around here lol

Excellent range of quality grilled dishes, however the proportions and quantity of food included in the dishes isn’t value for money. Prices have doubled over the last few years which is the biggest put off. Private family seating is available downstairs Generally good customer service with food served quickly.

What a fabulous place. i wanted to try it because it promotes as an Islam experience. i. e they stop for prayers every few hours. Plus Sahara smacks of heat and grill, of proper slabs of meat. Mian meal average price £16. they get you on the puddings but the savouries, starters and mains are excellent. The plates are generous and the combos… well you’ll need to take half home. Too much for 2 people! service is efficient, obliging and swift. All male staff. No beverages to lounge with while your dinner goes down and expressly no alcohol. Nice mango smoothies. I had lamb steak, fiery Scotch bonnet hot. tender as a lamb and flavourful. Best crisp fat chips in Leyton. I never saw Charlie the cockroach in the toilet but hey the earth is being moved nearby with the advent of the Olympics and Paralympics and look at the area anyway; grim, scummy but we hear due for a facelift. easily accessible. Buses stop almost at the door. Popular with 20 – 30 somethings and areas down and up for parties. Loved it til the table attendant said«Time up» then went into humbled apologies. All good. Will deffo return. Visitors to the Games have a nesting place here already.

On our first night in London, my sister and brother in law took us to this place. Let me tell you, this is a meat lovers paradise! Especially for those of you who like to enjoy Lamb and Beef. The BBQ burger was delicious as well as the Sahara Chops… YUM! They offer a large selection of fruity drinks and smoothies as well, which I am a sucker for; but I didn’t get a chance to try any since I was concentrating on keeping my appetite for the meats. A great place to start off our London vacation!
