Gem of a restaurant that we found on our last night in London! We had food in their Street Kitchen. Their food tasted unbelievably delicious and the waitstaff were very polite. Because the portions were manageable, we were able to sample pretty much all the vegetarian appetizers and a few main course. If you’re a vegetarian, I highly recommend their vegetable fried rice. A must have with the right balance of spices and vegetables! I’ll definitely dine here the next time I’m in London.

It’s a very good Indian restaurant, between Marble Arch and Bond Street(central line). I tried it with 6 friends on January 2016 at dinner: excellent food and service. Good modern atmosphere(not the traditional atmosphere of most of the restaurant for tourists). Interesting price

Service poor. Food okay. Nothing special. No takeaway boxes. Overall a bad experience.

Authentic, delicious, friendly staff, good service and reasonably priced! Can’t wait to go back. Loved this place — recommend the paneer starter(but very very spicy) and the duck keema which comes with a buttery roll. Only let down was the choice of beers

I have only eaten upstairs and not really sure if I would try the more upscale experience downstairs. If you like Indian food — you are going to find Chicken Tiki Masala here… this is Indian Street Food and so glorious! Come with friends and order a bunch of different things — you can’t go wrong!

Top notch Indian food in Mayfair area. This restaurant is kind of hidden on a back street but it is well known by locals. I have not had to make a reservation when going for lunch but am unsure about dinner. There is ample room upstairs and a huge downstairs area which they probably open up for overflow. This is a child friendly spot with high chairs and pram parking. Now for the food… It’s AMAZING! Everything I’ve ordered has been delicious. My husband and I went here when I was pregnant and ordered the hot wings to try and induce labour. While it didn’t work, the hotness level was intense! We both have high tolerance for spice so this was prefect for us!

Fabulous — flavorful, interesting food, traditional but with a modern twist, and drawing more widely in Indian regional and street food than your usual places. We will definitely be back!

Okay this was the best Indian food I’ve had so far in London. Nice place, good vibe and excellent food! Went here as a group of 3, and at around 8:15 pm; they had a 5 minute wait for the Street Kitchen. They also have a fine dining area, which we weren’t really interested in. We ordered some Chilli Paneer for the table, which came after our entrees — but it was good in a way. The Chilli Paneer’s spice level is nuclear. I usually enjoy spicy food, but even I couldn’t handle their spice level towards the end. For main course, I tried their Macher Jhol. It was absolutely delicious! I wasn’t too impressed with the portion size. At £8.50, I expected a bit more. but whatever portion was served was absolutely yumm! Definitely recommend this if you are into spicy and delicious food!

I have been to this restaurant several times, one of the best restaurants near the Oxford Street. Railway lamb curry deserves a trt

The hostess definitely saved the day for us. We had to wait a very long time, and then after being seated nobody even came by for about 10 minutes. She noticed and came to take our orders. She’s definitely the heroine of this establishment! We had a bun chilli chicken which was amazing! Full of flavor and just unlike anything we’ve ever had. The chicken lollipops were decent too. Ironically, the lamb curry was the worst part of the meal. It was not very good. Also I wouldn’t spend the money on chai tea, it wasn’t anything special. I’d definitely come again, but just for that sandwich! It’s going to haunt my dreams!

If the place is full with a lot of Indians it must be a good place right? This place is full with both Indian business men and Indian families, so expect a noisy crowd but also great food. I feel lucky to love Indian food and even more lucky to have found this place. I have not yet tried the second floor dining restaurant but I do love the ground floor street food restaurant. It’s a light, clean and open, modern interior with some Indian street signs. The chai is tasty and has real spices, the chilli paneer is nicely spicy(really great but actually quite spicy) and comes with a lot of vegetables(a bit more paneer would have been great), the pani puri is a fun chaat dish and often not advisable to have in India because of the water used but here it’s just great. The Andra Pradesh chicken curry is a great spicy juicy curry and made me almost overeat myself, just like I use to do in India ;-) The food is very affordable as well, great value!

Great dining experience! Had dinner around 8:30 at the bottom level(there are separate menus for the two levels; the top level is more street food/tapas-like and crowded in terms of seatings, with a slighter friendlier range of prices; the bottom level has that dimmer lighting, nice restaurant atmosphere). Was taken away by the butter chicken and the house special lamb! Flavorful seasoning and extremely tender meat. Would actually prefer to eat here with friends compared to Punjab!

We were only in London for a week, and ended up eating here twice… once upstairs and once downstairs. The concept is great… indian street food. The décor is great… downstairs looks like the inside of a train, with the overhead compartments, etc… and the upstairs reminds me of a market area. Service was also great both times. Downstairs is a more formal area, where you can make reservations. Upstairs has a more café type feel to it, and does not accept reservations. The menu is different in both spots. Downstairs is more meals, and upstairs is more focused on snack items. Both were great, but my preference was definitely the downstairs menu… but only marginally. Food was excellent either way. Downstairs, i think we ordered almost all of the appetizers. My favorite was the shrimp, and also the kebabs. Upstairs, the best was the lamb burger, but we also had 10 different items. the only thing i was disappointed in was the chicken wings. Didn’t have too much to it… and seemed really mild and plain compared to the rest of the meal. Love Indian food in London, and this place did not disappoint.

My wife and I walked into roti chai with a lot of high expectations because last year we were here, it was fantastic. We were seated straightaway but it took sometime for a waiter to come and talk to us. We ordered two masala chais. two pani puris and a fentiman’s rose lemonade. The pani puris were very good and felt very well on the palate. The pani had the correct amount of tang, sweetness and hotness to it. The masala chai, however was a disappointment. it felt more like someone had boiled some hot water in a hurry with a tea bag and a drop of milk in it. I mean, an establishment called roti chai serves a deplorable chai and that’s a bit ironic. Nevertheless, 3 stars for a good pani puri, quick seating and decent customer service.

Excellent food. I wish they had this in nyc! We loved the appetizer and buns and the entrees were delic! There’s so many atypical dishes that u have to come back & try again. It’s definitely worthwhile. We tried fire wings, chat, and chicken bits for appetizer. Also had the chicken bun & fish curry. All delic! The masala chai was authentic. Yummy!

No lie. Downstairs dining area: I’m veggie, and was surprised to see so many options on the menu. I started out with the palak papri chaat. Excellent. My husband and I shared the Schezwan chilli paneer. Seriously, hold me down. Bada**. I then had the palak paneer and tarka daal, accompanied by the roti and naan plate. Wow, the paneer melted in my mouth, the palak was of the gods, and the daal was unique, and tasted like the most epic buttery daal goodness I’ve ever had. Broke my taste buds. Rico. Rico. Rico. The service was excellent. The waiter and manager were both very present, without being overbearing. Def going back! Update: 2 days later we went back to try the Indian street food(upstairs). Def underwhelming. They were slammed, and maybe that affected preparation/service. I wouldn’t go back for the street food, but would for sure go back to the dining room food.

What a fantastic experience from start to finish. We descended into the downstairs to some of the most elegant modern décor, complemented by equally polished service. The surroundings and attentiveness was pitch perfect. Everything we tried from the menu was delicious but the standouts were the paneer and pepper kabobs dusted with chili and from our entrees, the palak paneer, tarka dahl and chicken tikka were absolutely heavenly. Our cocktails could have been made a little less sweeter but otherwise, the meal was perfect. We will be returning here before returning home!

Juste parfait!

Llovía a mares. Literalmente.
