Great place to get your laundry done. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Machines were clean and the crowd was young and old and friendly.

This coin-up saved me on a recent(August 2015) trip to the UK. I wanted to travel light during my two weeks there, so had to do my laundry about half-way through. Here are the specifics: — All front-loading washers: ten 16-LB load machines; four 30-LB machines; and three 40-LB machines.(I used the 16-LB load; 4 £ per load — one such washing cycle was just under 20 minutes long) –10 dryers; 1 £ for 15 minutes long –1 £ for a box of detergent –Each machine and dryer is numbered. There is a central station that takes coins by the machine/dryer number.(This is different from the U.S., where each machine has its own coin drop box.) –While the neighborhood is not ritzy and fancy, I felt perfectly safe doing the laundry on a weekday afternoon.

This friendly laundrette at the intersection of Tavistock Pl and Marchmont St is the perfect place to do a quick load or two of wash during a London visit. The very helpful manager can make change and will guide you through the directions in order to properly program your load, buy soap powder, and dry your clothes. I was in and out in an hour and the place was not crowded tho there were several other folks doing laundry. Great place!

a good place to do the laundry. Safe and clean. and you can arrange for drop off pick up service. and really, for what hotels charge, I can find an hour or two in my week.

Slightly seedy, and you need to bring your own change on Sundays, but it got the job done.

There’s not much you can say about the Red and White Laundrette on Marchmount Street in Bloomsbury. The machines work, the prices are excellent for central London and, being self service, it is nearly always empty which is surprising considering the its proximity to all the local tourist hostels and student digs. Whilst it’s always stressful having to manœuvre your laundry to and from the actual laundrette the street outside is quiet and lined with book shops which you look around whilst your washing is in the machine. A good place to finish that book you’ve been meaning to finish for ages, even if you haven’t actually got any washing on the go.
