teehee. I always thought Queensway market, referred to the whole street of shopping from Queensway station to Whiteleys and was wondering why it had a low ranking. There are such a variety of shops on the street and you have specialty groceries from across the globe — Asian /Polish /Russian /Greek. Now I realise that it refers to a smaller selection of shops that I wasn’t even aware existed. Will have to keep my eyes open and pop in the next time I have some time in the area. UPDATE: So I finally walked into this market on Queensway and its like an Alladin’s cave of mobile phone/computer repair/unlocking shops. The entry looks like its a luggage shop and given the profusion of such luggage/souvenir shops on this street, I’d never looked inside properly, to realise that it opened into another warren of shops. Other than the mobile and computer shops — which seem to offer much cheaper rates than the streets around and a shop that promises to repair your mobile screen while you wait!, there were a few hookah shops, a watch battery repair shop(piled with a multitude of bric-à-brac), an entire street of Psychics — called Psychic mews — quite a surreal view in hte midst of all this technology. There’s a Russian barber/hair stylist who promises haircuts for 7Pounds — male or female and will take walk ins. There’s a tiny Brazilian café — I did not check out their menu on this visit, but I did pop into the Brazilian supermarket opposite. It has a limited range, but I did manage to buy some Dulce De Leche, potato straws(salli — used as a garnish in Persian/Parsi cooking too) and smoked beef. They also sell Brazilian potato buns and some freshly homemade and frozen croquettes. These 2 Brazilian places will induce me to visit again soon.

This place is awful I mean truly awful. I note that inspirationjunkie’s review above deals with not only the Computer Fair but also the other parts of the arcade which indeed are cool(ish) and quirky, however .let me confine my review to the Comp Fair itself DONOTBUTANYPC’s, LAPTOPS’s SOFTWARE, or COMPONENTS here!!! (Well let me qualify that statement — there are only two maybe three people I would deal with or buy from at the fair the rest are idiots or scammers) Most of the peeps who sell Computers here are idiots Most of the components or systems bought here are not bargains and can be bought cheaper elsewhere i.e. The PC Fair in Tottenham Court Road on a Saturday. Any of the stuff can be bought cheaper online. If any of the stuff you buy breaks any verbal guaranty to replace or refund is worthless, they may offer to attempt to repair it but with the limited knowledge most of the sellers have and the way they go about attempting to repair it, I would let hardly any of them loose on a light switch much less something complicated like a PC or laptop. DONOTBUYSOFTWAREHERE or worse still allow any of the traders to INSTALLSOFTWARE, 90% of it is from pirated copies. In short AVOIDTHISPLACELIKETHEPLAGUE! Qualifier; If you come in to the Fair turn immediately left, walk to the end and you will find that the back row has three traders that are OK, two of whom(Abdul and Abdulla) are great at doing laptop repairs, there is also a guy from Wembley in the far corner who is OK and has quality stuff on sale at reasonable prices. PS — I work in IT for a living, I do high level troubleshooting and configuration, upgrades on systems, networks and servers I know what I’m talking about.

An undeground hotch potch of eclectic stores and stalls, home to some 100 traders located in the heart of Queensway W2. Pop down to enjoy traditional food from the five continents. As an eclectic indoor market, there is a bustling warren of small shops housing clothes shops, cafes, ethnic food stores(notably Russian and Brazilian), an open topped hair salon and a computer market plus other assorted tourist-friendly delights! Also look out for Psychic Mews, a recreation of a small mews street inside the market itself! Opening hours: Monday Saturday 10am-10pm and Sundays 12−10pm.

This is an odd market with an eclectic mix of businesses. I usually use Roundworld Bureau de Change and Kunduz Café right at the entrance to the market but if you explore deeper, you will find little techy computer and phone unlocking shops as well as some ethnic supermarkets and cafes as well as some selling trinkets. Worth a wee browse but not enough to hold the interest for long.

The Queensway Market is a ma-hoosive place that trails in and around and behind and above and below all the other shops on the Tube station side of the Queensway road. It’s like a market but with a roof over the top. It’s like Camden except drastically smaller. It sells a massive assortment of things, but most generally the types of things you regularly get on stalls — small, pretty things that are either alot cheaper then they should be(fakes) or alot more expensive then they should be(pretty things). Have a good look around to find something good to give as a gift — I am not so sure I would shop here for myself…
