Puncheon tries to market itself as a wine bar, however the wine list is not overly extensive and is a tad pricey. I had a glass of nothing-special-sauvignon blanc which set me back more than seven pounds. That said, the staff are friendly(although not overly knowledgeable about their wine selection) and the place has a nice ambience. The food on the menu also looked tasty and well priced, although I didn’t try it.

I went here with a couple of friends for lunch and frankly the food was overpriced and not really up to scratch. I had the«Wasabi Tuna Burger» which was essentially a very small(and pretty dry) tuna steak in a bun with some wasabi on the side for £12! I would have assumed for that price chips would be included, but no! They were an additional £3! Don’t think I’ll be returning!

The Puncheon is a Wine Bar near Farringdon station. It has a big terrasse, very pleasant for sunny warm fridays ;-). They’ve got a good selection of wines(average price not too expensive: £10−15 the bottle), nice sharing platters(like nachos).
