My new years resolution was to go skiing on the 1st of January, having the whole ski piste for yourself and no queuing up at the ski lifts. 2 days later I was with a fractured ligament back in London. London is not really a place for hopping around with crutches. It was tough but I some how managed. The most important thing is to slowly build up your muscles again. I was recommended physiotherapy and sports Injury Clinic up in Angel. There are several physiotherapists working there as a team run by the principal Helen Skehan. There website is very informative. Daniel Brown looked was my therapist. He worked with the Chelsea Football Academy for three seasons, covering match days and evening clinics. I had to explain my ski accident that he could take the right actions to prepare me for the gym again. He did many tests with me, analysing my movement and strength of muscles. He wrote all the exercises down and I diligently followed his advice. The therapy can take between 3 – 4 sessions. I experienced this clinic as highly professional and thanks to them I am doing the exercises which will prevent me from future injuries.
