I had noticed Peppe’s a number of times over the last few weeks due to there constantly being a queue outside. I finally decided to give it a go — having had a spare fiver in my pocket. Peppe’s has a LARGE selection of pastas and meat dishes available, I didn’t count but I’d say a fair few more than 10. They also serve salads, jacket potatoes, sandwiches and I’m sure other bits and bobs I couldn’t see. One thing that did put me off the pasta was that although the pastas were made fresh that day they were warmed up via the microwave which kind of ruins the point of fresh pasta. I decided to have a chicken pesto salad box. You don’t have a choice in what you get in the salad box other than the topping itself. If I am honest the majority of the box was lettuce(not exactly exciting) but the chicken was nice and there was a large portion of it. I ended up making a wrap out of the salad which I enjoyed but the salad on it’s own was rather bland. I would go back to give the pasta a go but all in all pretty average!

This café stands out as you walk past due to the enticing range of pastas in the window, more than ten of them. The place is eat-in or takeaway and as a place to eat it looks clean but not massively comfortable. The ladies serving were very friendly and I was in and out quickly. The pastas come with a side of vegetables or potatoes. I tried the lasagne — surely the safest of the pasta dishes, and yet it was profoundly average. Any fool can make a lasagne that is beyond delicious and these(I believe) are Italian women, how can they fail to blow me away? To be fair, it cost five pounds which was very reasonable. They do sandwiches too, they looked a bit unappealing. It wasn’t a bad lunch as such, but I have no urge to come back.
