Je recommande chaudement cette adresse qui propose une cuisine britannique et continentale moderne, et succulente. Les serveurs m’ont très aimablement indiqué comment manger certains plats. Tout est très satisfaisant, n’hésitez pas à y faire un tour en soirée.

The restaurant has a nice ambiance, the waiter that served our table was very friendly. I went there with a group of 9 people on a Saturday evening and was able to make the reservation of Friday afternoon. We tried different dishes. I had the bouillabaisse soup as a starter — liked it but didn’t love it. It was a bit different from the pictures on the other reviews, the clams were tiny and there was no bread with it. I had the sea bass with couscous as main dish — the fish was very good but also not incredibly good. People that had the plaice with salsa verde, the pheasant with mashed potatoes and the mushroom risotto were very satisfied. Other people at the table also thought that the lamb was very good and that the soft shell crab with poached eggs was good but a little bit undercooked. We had a couple of bottles of wine and I particularly liked the rose. Overall, we had a very pleasant evening.

We’ve been frequenting this lovely, family owned/run restaurant for 5-years, it’s our go-to spot for last minute early dinners, Sunday roast and gatherings with friends. With two of the brothers masterfully preparing and creating their lovely dishes, while the third brother tends front of house, we could not be more delighted! A reasonably priced menu, stellar service and a drink/wine selection that never disappoints immediately usurping what it may lack in décor. You simply must go!

This is a very easy review for me to write because this lovely restaurant is within one minute walk from where I live. I don’t go out much but when I do, I go here, I go to Stan’s place. I can always rely on the food and service being five star quality. I can always rely on the atmosphere to be friendly and fun. The drinkI can never decide between the excellent draught Pilsner beer and my favourite fruity full bodied red wine, Fleur de lis. Stan has a lot of experience in the restaurant business and it shows in his excellent choice of wines. It is mostly a family concern too. Stan’s son is an excellent cook and always seems cheerful, even on the busiest night. I know they select only the choicest and freshest ingredients, prepared in the best ways to bring out the combinations of flavours that delight the palate.

Roman Road’s not been considered up-market since Caesar headed home a couple of Millennia ago. Could Palmer’s signal a long overdue resurgence? In short: No. But they do serve a great steak. Not to labour the point, but it really is a very odd location for a mid-range restaurant. Sadly the interior doesn’t quite manage to transport you away from the less-desirable end of Bethnal Green. But as soon as the food arrives, you’ll forget all about the tower blocks outside the window. Starters were substantial: one-between-two will mean you don’t miss out on the mains. On that front, I can only comment on the steaks(though there are veggie and fishy options). The rump steaks were super thick, tender and cooked to rare and medium-rare perfection. And the waiter had the good grace not to scowl at my parent’s request for their rib-eyes well done. Chips were crunchy heaven and both sauces(bearnaise and chimichurri) were a great accompaniment to the main act. Desserts were of a similar calibre.
