O’shea’s Butchers

Excellent butcher in Bermondsey’s Maltby Street Market.
Great selection of hi and lo cuts, there is a viewing counter in the front part of the store and in the back is where they keep a majority of the meat. Specials hang on the back wall, Jacob’s ladders and ox cheek were well priced when I stopped in.
I ended up getting 1.5 kilo of Jacobs ladders (aka short ribs) for about 20. The meat is really good quality and well worth the price.
Service is to the point, but friendly and very accommodating. The man who was helping me kindly offered to cut my ribs down to size so that they could fit in my pan (don’t get me wrong, im an awesome cook but not so great at cuts!)
Try and get there earlier in the morning, as some of the more popular cuts will sell before the afternoon rush of the market area (especially on weekends!)
I’m really glad I stopped in. My friends who live in the area have been raving about them and now I can definitely see why. Will be back!

I am happy to second the review before me. They supply quality meat, they have a good selection and they are not affair to experiment … Every week they have one or two new items … Like Hungarian sausages or smoked sirloin stake …
My favourite is the spicy Italian beef sausages … The meet % on that one is off the charts!!! :) they also from time to time make spicy lamb sausages … They are insanely good as well.

O’Sheas are part of the ever-​growing Maltby Street market and is one of several butchers in the area. They provide great meat, knowledgeable and friendly service so can be highly recommended.
The burgers are great and their sauces look delicious. They are open Saturday’s 9 – 14 as many of the other vendors in this area. They do however also home deliver for orders made online.
