Those of you who spend some nights out in Canary Wharf know that ‘eating is cheating’ at least what the Brits tell me. Nevertheless, I need to eat, at least before I make my way home. While most restaurants and shops are closed after 9p, Organic Chickpeas stays open late(not sure when they close, but they’re open before the last tube). It’s a great evening snack, at a fiver, you can’t beat it. You choose between white and brown pita bread. Then you get salad toppings and freshly made falafels. Even the white sauce they put on top is organic — as well as the chilli they put on, which is optional, and definitely provides a kick. The guys there are nice and there hasn’t ever been a queue when I go — however I only go late nights instead of during lunch. I’d definitely go again.

Very quick and tasy falafels and hummus. I was impressed. Quite convenient.

A good alternative to the usual Canary Wharf lunch options. There’s not a big choice, it’s either a salad bowl with falafels(£4.95, and 50p extra for a side pita bread) or a pitta stuffed with hummus and falafels for £4.45. The only other options were whether you have a white or brown pita, and the optional(and very spicy) chilli sauce. The stall is run by Israelis, so the taste and quality is similar to what you’d find in the middle east. The falafels were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, but it’s a shame they weren’t freshly cooking the falafels on the Friday lunchtime I visited.
