I ordered my brother an ice cream cake from here for his birthday and it was beautifully presented and tasted gorgeous too. You get two flavours of your choice so I played it safe and went for vanilla and strawberry. It was £35 for a large one which went along way at his party. This place is definitely better for a take away I think… so many screaming bloody kids at this location and their parents letting them run riot in the shop! And I was seriously hungover when I came to pick up the cake — but they did an impeccable job with the cake!

Salted Caramel was amazing!!! Also tried the strawberry, nutella, hazelnut, and cookies and cream. You can tell that each gelato was made with fresh, quality ingredients as they were all melt in your mouth delicious. The strawberry tasted like eating a fresh strawberry and the cookies and cream was like eating a much nicer version of an oreo cookie. It’s a little pricier than an ice cream bar from the shop, but the quality and taste is totally worth it! I need to see if they do frequent buyer cards because I will defo be stopping in again.

I can already see that living within 10 minutes walk from this gelateria is going to be dangerous. On the hottest weekend of the year I was compelled to pop in on no less than 3 occasions. Consequently, I have already sampled the majority of the range which mainly focusses on traditional Italian flavours(pistachio, hazelnut, vanilla etc) with a few influences from our US cousins(e.g. cookies & cream and peanut butter). For me, the pistachio gelato is pretty much perfect: silky smooth, with a powerful pistachio flavour. Eating it immediately evoked memories of a hot summer’s day in Italy. By these high standards, the vanilla was something of a disappointment and did not pack the same level of flavour and the peanut butter was, for me, simply too sickly and not as refreshing as an ice cream should be. However, these small failings apart, it is still a fantastic luxury to have a gelateria of this quality in your neighbourhood and the queues out of the door on Sunday testified to its popularity with locals and visitors alike.
