A nice surprise. My co-worker, and I needed a quick place to connect before a meeting in the area. We took a chance on Nincom. First, the juices look great. I’m getting one next time. Second, the coffee was better than what I got at Starbucks. Third, the mozzarella and tomato soup was excellent. The cashier went beyond what you would expect from a grab and go restaurant. He said that if I didn’t like my soup, he’d swap it out. Totally unnecessary, but a nice change from your typical takeaway restaurant dynamic.

Have you tried the chicken coconut and cranberry soup? I know it sounds strange and terrifying, but I promise it tastes really good. They have a big diversity of freshly made soups and different kinds basically every day. My girlfriend says a small one is perfectly enough to fill her, but honestly, I need at least one big sized. The place itself is not the biggest luxury, but it’s nice and the service is always top-notch. Switch your daily lunch coffee with a soup here. It will please you more than caffeine.

The soup here is delicious, which is good really considering that is their speciality! I went in hankering after the pumpkin and Gruyère but was disappointed to find out they had sold out however the very nice chap behind the counter offered me an alternative which he claimed was just as good. After letting me sample the soup he was indeed right it was delicious, so he packed it up along with some homemade cornbread and I went on my way. It was delicious. I can’t say anymore really. I thoroughly enjoyed the soup for lunch and felt full after. My only qualm is that it’s a tad pricey to eat there so often but what a treat if you(or your bank balance) is in the mood!

I haven’t tried the soup(although they all smelled delicious) but this is a review for the baked goods. My coworker and I stopped in here for a quick afternoon pick-me-up on our way to a meeting; I had a latte and a chocolate bar thing and she had a juice and chocolate chip cookie. She took a bite of the cookie and nearly spit it out, asking ‘do you think the main ingredient is sawdust?!’ I tried it and completely agreed– there was something wrong with that cookie. Nothing on the packaging noted that this was a ‘healthy’ cookie or provided some other explanation for it tasting so terrible. The chocolate bar/brownie thing was equally disappointing, as was my latte. Moral of the story: stick with the soup, skip the sweets.

So this soup place was utterly delicious. Absolutely loved the Red Pepper and Goats cheese soup. The portions are large so a small went long way for me and I thought it was great value at about £3.50 for a «small.» There was a huge variety of soups, ranging from Broth, Fish, Cheese, Veg, Pulses, Meat and other types of soup you might be looking for. Would absolutely go back or order out again.

Nestled in Old Street Station, Nincomsoup is the perfect place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, any meal in fact. It’s just beautiful. We were heading out to an event and needed something cheap, cheerful, quick and filling because it was going to be a long night, and it didn’t disappoint on any level. I had the sausage and potato soup and seriously, I’ve never had anything so filling. It looks like just a small cup of soup with some veg and a bit of meat but it’s SOMUCHMORE than that. It felt like I was eating it for hours, the amount never seemed to go down and there was so much of everything in it that it’s easily a decent meal. And for an extra quid, you get a big crusty bread roll which is delicious. The service was quick and efficient — within five minutes we were sitting there eating. For two large soups, two bread rolls and two large smoothies, the total came to just under £20 too, which is cheaper than all the other options we were considering in the area for dinner, and it had the added bonus of being healthy too. Can’t beat it. I’ll be back!

I’m not a big soup fan, but this place is excellent for lunchtime soup. My favourite are the spicy ones, so thai green curry or jerk chicken are my favourite, with the addition of lots of tobasco sauce to give it that kick, The soups are super tasty, and the containers deceptively large in volume. One recommendation is to get there a little later than the usual lunch crowd. This is because if you get there early when they’ve just opened, you tend to get a more watery soup. As they get toward the bottom, the soup naturally starts getting chunkier. One time I ordered the thai, I think I had more chicken than soup(a good thing for me!) Additionally, if you’re unfamiliar, they’ll let you sample each soup before purchase. They also have optional crusty bread and a small range of sandwiches/desserts in a chill cabinet. But the soup is what these guys are here for.

This is a review only of the tea. It’s reasonable, inside the station, and very nice. Tea Pigs. Not typically my favourite, but it does the job. Seemed nicer here. I’m not a massive soup fan, as a meal. I like it, rather a lot, but it’s just never enough food. It looked & smelled nice, though.

I’m not sure how to write a review for this lunch spot that doesn’t centre around the name of it! When my colleagues told me about this, I started laughing at the name and made them repeat it. I was in a soup-feeling mood(mostly as a result of the easily shared Office Cold), so made my way around the corner(and underground) to Nincomsoup. Their selection of freshly made soups impressed me, as did all the other treats available! I ended up getting their Tomato & Basil soup(great texture and full of flavour) as well as their Carrot & Orange juice blend. While I admit to being disappointed that their soups of the day didn’t include Chicken Noodle Soup, I was well pleased with the selection and the quality. I look forward to going back again soon!

It’s a soup kitchen & it’s hidden in the middle of the old street roundabout. That in itself spells ‘hidden gem’ to me. Their daily menu consists of a type of Poultry, Meat, Fish, Veg soup each plus specials. On top of that you can also get sandwiches, desserts, fresh juice. etc(but honestly why would you… it’s a soup kitchen, you should order soup) and there are no Soup Nazi saying ‘No soup for you!’(unless they ran out. I was hoping to get the large Chilled Gazpacho on a hot summer day but they only had the regular size ones left) Don’t expect the place to be anything fancy, it’s a soup kitchen so expect casual/basic layout. At the end of the day, you go there for the soup right? They also stock a range of sides to go with you soup, along with the previously mentioned sandwiches & dessert, you can also get bread rolls, corn chips and various other nibbles. Would definitely go there on a regular basis.

wow i came across this place by chance on route to an intrerview in winter and i was impressed. There was a vast array of soups and they were more than happy to let you sample them. There were some strange soups eg sausage and mash but it tasted nice i just didnt expect to have it in soup form. I bought the clam chowder and it was hot and delicious, very good prices

You know, for a place that is underneath an intersection, it’s not that bad a spot if you want a simple cup of tea or some soup. The staff are nice, the room is roomy and the prices aren’t bad(If this was an airport they’d be 3 times as much). Just saying.

A friend and I decided after passing Nincomsoup multiple times that we’d go in one day and try it out. From the outside I have to admit it doesn’t look like much. However, when you walk in your expectations are exceeded. The ambiance is very nice; it’s very soothing and chilled out. We went at around 5pm and there were only a few people seated, both reading a book after their late lunch :) Now for the soups :) I’ve only been once although I’m likely going again in the next couple days. The first time my friend and I both had a Spicy Lentil soup. The small was £3 and was definitely enough, although I wish I had added a roll(I believe its 50p for that). The soup was incredibly good, and very filling. It had just enough spiciness to satisfy my love for hot foods. The soups change daily(you can look up beforehand what they’re doing today on their website!), and they always let you try a bit if you’re unsure. I think that’s a great touch :) The top price for a small soup it seems is £3.50, which I think is quite reasonable seeing as if you just add a roll you have yourself a really really good lunch :)

This place smells happy. The moment you walk in you are greeted by the comforting aromas of bubbling soup. Also, any place with such a punny name get’s my vote. When I first moved to London(all those years ago) this was my closest station and I walked past Nin Com Soup every time I went to Old Street. Now, years later it’s 3pm, I’ve been running around all day and I need some comfort food. I’m a comfort eater. It makes me happy to be full. That also means I’m always fighting fat. But here, you can indulge in a slighter liquid lunch. These guys have a huge array of soups on offer, along with breakfasts, home made corn bread, freshly squeezed juices and more. It’s totally worth it for a winter warming bowl of soup. If you’re anything like me it’ll make you feel a lot better.

NINCOMSOUP — You know you love the name and let me tell you, you’ll love the product! This independent store sells fresh, healthy and very generous sized portions of soup. You can add a roll or slice of bread etc. to this but if you order the larger size it’s not necessary(and I am a little guzzle-guts). The variety of soup in each category(Beef, Chicken, Fish, Lamb, Vegetarian) changes daily and they’re given funky names. Choose your fruit and veg and have it turned into a smoothie/drink in front of your eyes. Certain healthy already made up sandwiches etc. also available. Pleasant surroundings and you’ll not feel rushed … so next time you pass through or by Old Street tube — treat yourself!!!

On the way to the Hot Breath Karaōke UYE tonight, I spotted Nin Com Soup at Old Street Station and the smile it brought to my face(yes, I love puns!) convinced me to pop in for a quick pick-me-up. From its aggresive sounding name, I was expecting a Soup Nazi experience a la Seinfeld but no such luck here. Service was friendly and efficient. I opted for a small bowl of Boston clam chowder — everything else from crackers to bread is extra. Well, the chowder was flavourful and had a decent amount of vegetables and clams in it but it wasn’t really authentic compared to the version I had in Boston. There was also a tempting array of juices and hot drinks on the menu board. Nothing special but exactly what I needed before heading off to meet my fellow Unilocalers.

Soup is mediocre to okay, wee bit on the pricey side for what you’re getting, but I LOVEFOODPUNS.

When I worked in this miserable job in Old Street doing data entry, I used to come to Nim Com Soup with my friend Hanna sometimes over my lunch break if we could actually go the same time. That was a whole other story. Nin Com Soup is not really my cup of soup. I got this butternut squash one once with a bread roll(they all come with bread) and I couldn’t actually eat it which said a lot because I was in my fat arse food stage. Nin Com Soup also sells some overpriced meals in the freezer case some of which is vegetarian. I could live without Nin Com Soup, although my friend Hanna swore by it. She’s still be eating it now if she hadn’t have moved back to Finland. Miss you girl!

This is an alright place if you are looking to grab a take-away coffee or a quick lunch. Unsurprisingly they specialize in a variety of soups which change on a daily basis. It is not the most welcoming place since it is located within Old Street station, but the soups are pretty decent if only a little low on the seasoning. You will often see the local work force popping in for some quick nutrients throughout the mornings and lunch hours. All in all, an OK place but could be a lot better if it was overground.

OK, so I’ve never actually had the soup. I’ve looked, admired the list of varieties(changing daily, some with great names such as ‘Back to Your Roots’), maybe enjoyed the smell wafting out, then decided I want something more solid at that price. I guess now I have a little more money it may happen soon Actually considering the prices you can pay for a coffee these days most people won’t think this too steep in comparison. And according to the website they contain up to four times the solids of most soups. I did have a peek inside, and they also do other stuff, like breakfast porridge and noodles. I think I may be tempted soon Meanwhile, it does look quality. And I had to review it just for that name didn’t I?
