My husband and I really enjoyed this bar. The fish and chips were fantastic and the drink selection is very good. The atmosphere is fun and there is plenty of space throughout the bar.

Average London pub in Leadenhall Market. I was given an education on ordering cider, I first said«hard cider» and everyone looked at me like I was crazy. Apparently they don’t have regular apple cider in England so «cider» is always alcoholic. Really that has nothing to do with this particular bar, but just an interesting tidbit on British vs American terminology.

Enjoyed drinking here with some friends. The staff here is friendly and helpful in making suggestions of beer, wine, or cocktails. It seems that a bunch of business men call this place home. I am only visiting but next time im in town Ill be back for certain.

Happy Day from Wolf Brewery made the visit here worthwhile. The pub is not that interesting inside and while the high tables create more space, they also remove any small chance of cosyness, particularly with the screens spread about like small pockets of an unpredictable virus. The relative shelter of Leadenhall Market means that there is a much greater portion of the year in which you might stand outside. The bartender was funny… like a clown… he f*ing amused me

Very slow service That does not seem to improve over time… What saves it is the great surroundings of Leadenhall market, and the roof on rainy days…

The service here is notoriously SLOW. And while the downstairs bar always has space for sitting, it also rarely has a competent bartender(if any), and often smells of strange smells. Often go here for Friday night post-work drinks. Usually the whole alleyway of Leadenhall Market fills up with the stand-and-have-a-pint crew. It’s nice enough, but getting served is always ridiculous. Slow, slow, slow, and more than once items have been left out of a group order. I really just go here as it’s convenient for all. It has fabulous potential with its location and space, but I think the fact that it still pulls in the City crowd with the poor service and weird downstairs bar means they aren’t likely to improve any time soon. They have both Crabbie’s and Rekorderlig, though. And so I put up with it!

Conveniently sat on the corner of busy Gracechurch Street and Leandenhall Market, the New Moon is always ram packed with City workers having extended lunch time drinks or a post work pint of two. Punters spill out into the covered Leadenhall market, often blocking the Gracechurch St entrance to Leadenhall. The bar staff are super friendly considering how busy they are, and there’s always an ‘atmosphere’ due to the sheer velocity of people there, the air rings with laughter and conversations about the market.(Not prompting the laughter!) Downstairs in the pub is a restaurant area, which serves a selection of hot and cold lunches for a reasonable price. The usual suspects pop up, lasagna, chilli, a selection of jacket potato’s and soups. It’s not the best quality but it’s useful to soak up the lunchtime booze!

I called to book an area of this bar for a work event, and was told I could book the downstairs cellar bar. When our small group turned up we found we had the whole massive bar downstairs booked! The atmosphere is pretty good upstairs, packed with business people but with a more relaxed vibe than the other corporate soulless bars in the area. The only food you can get after 7pm is crisps, but the service is pretty good, and if you’re drinking anywhere in the City after work, this is the place to go for a real pub vibe and lots of space(you can drink outside in the Leadenhall market).
