Not my cup of tea, no pun intended. Had the egg white omelette. I like my spinach a bit more cooked, but it, and the english muffin, were good. My problem is with the service. Not enough people for the small restaurant. You need to get there early in order to get a table and even then, the waiter was rushed.

Yum! Straight off our flight from America we stopped in to Muriel’s for a proper British breakfast. I was excited to have fresh juice, and I ordered the Jam and bread selection. The restaurant is decorated cute & quaint, open, airy, & filled with light. Like a slice of the countryside dropped in South Ken. It was a delightful breakfast.

Great deserts! A nice place to have a coffee and a cake or dessert. They have hot dishes too. Very full restaurant which some people may not like.

This little restaurant has been around for a while, but it’s always been quite busy. Lately, I’ve seen new branches pop up around London, Richmond, Soho and Leicester Square. So per chance I was going to be in South Kensington early this morning so decided to pay it visit before the restaurant filled up! The first thing you notice is that the décor is homey and quirky. The upside-down colander light shades, the upside down pot plants all contribute to a loving and comfortable atmosphere. The breakfast is good, the sausages were awesome but the toast not so much. After my breakfast I spent most of my time eyeing other people’s breakfast, in particular the Muriel’s Breakfast Sandwich and the Blueberry Pancakes looked delicious so I might have had a teeny bit of food envy! Last but not least… I loved the plates, they should probably consider selling ‘em!

I had liked Muriel’s kitchen when I once had a juice at their Soho branch. The one in South Kensington doesn’t have an equally amazing interior but I thought I’d go in for a healthy salad. Unfortunately service took forever and our salads were full of yummy stuff but there was no dressing whatsoever. I could have asked for oil and vinegar but didn’t want to wait any longer. I might go again, try more food, and then give a better review.

I walked into Muriel’s kitchen after taking a look at the gorgeous blueberry pancakes through the window, and I was not disappointed! The pancakes, while a large helping, were delicious, soft, sweet, and had just the right amount of blueberries. The berry muesli was also quite good. My one complaint is that I ordered an apple juice only to receive a pear juice, which was tasty but not what I ordered. I would definitely come again.

Gluten free bread is available. For salads and soup, one must get there after 11 am.(Or 10:50 to avoid long line) It’s not vegan friendly otherwise. Morning menus are very egg heavy. Filled croissant I ordered was disappointing. I was expecting more greens but there were hardly any. Although quite pricy(compared to Chicago) for the size, they have freshly made green juices and green smoothies. I asked for strong ginger and they were able to serve good gingery juice.(Thank you!) It was very small place packed with people. All the staffs were nice and attentive. I will come again and try something different next time.

Loved. This. Place. Excellent service and the food was outstanding. Their breakfast tea service brought back many happy memories of a previous trip to England, and the croissants were very tasty. Décor is charming… this is a happy place! If you’re ever in the area, give it a try!

The food might be decent but this has got to be the most poorly organised and inefficient restaurant I’ve been to(and that includes restaurants in Pakistan, which can be quite inefficient!). The waitresses had no idea what was going on, the queue is all over the place, staff are running around shouting stuff at each other, the tables are positioned in a very haphazard manner. Never going back!

Muriel’s Kitchen is awesome. Tucked around the corner of the entrance to the tube station I never knew it was there, but I won’t miss it again. I was craving a nutritious lunch, I’m really trying to be good with what I eat, which is often difficult when eating out. Not at Muriel’s Kitchen. I picked up a box of grilled salmon, with mushrooms, quinoa, leaves, peppers… Basically a box of delicious health! Next time I’m in South Ken, I’ll definitely go back for lunch again.

It’s really a shame that despite the nice food and atmosphere, that Muriel’s seemingly cares little about how slow the service is. I mean, I get it… It’s extremely busy most times of the day but it’s not exactly like there’s a whole lot of cooking that needs to be done. Many meals are simply popped in the microwave with most visits taking an hour, more or less. Today I had to show myself to a table because the waiter could not be bothered to do so. Maybe they’re understaffed or just poorly staffed, but one thing is for certain, I’m not waiting an hour for microwaved food. Completely unacceptable. I likely won’t be back, but it probably won’t matter to anyone since I’m pretty sure they make more money on tourist traffic than they do retaining regulars. Sad state of affairs.

Popped in here to refuel after a good amount of sight-seeing earlier in the day. I think this may be a small chain of restaurants. I noticed another location around London a few days later. The décor is exactly how I would like my summer cottage to be decorated(Yes– that’s right. The one that doesn’t exist). The service was extremely pleasant and they had wi-fi so I was able to chill for a bit after my meal without feeling rushed. I had the BBQ sliders with pickled cabbage which were the cutest little tastiest treats. They were packed with delicious pork and sauce that were enough to leave you satiated and not feeling heavy after. A side of fries on the side made for a pleasant lunch. I think people flock here for their brunches and I can see how the atmosphere would lend itself to a really awesome weekend meet up with family and friends.

Décor & atmosphere is cool & quirky. Definitely the kind of place you go to for a nice snack/coffee/cake. Service was also really good — waiters were friendly and attentive. We went for dinner so ordered the melted Camembert with crostini for a sharing starter — thumbs up for this indulgent plate especially if you love your cheese(although it’s pretty hard to go wrong with baked Camembert). The mains however — really nothing special. The fish pie was tasteless and hard to even finish. The salmon was nothing I couldn’t prepare better my self at home and came with a few salad leaves and chilli sauce. If you come here, best opt for the snackable dishes instead of forking out on the less than average mains.

The ambiance at Muriel’s is perfect for brunch! They had delicious looking pastries and lunch items displayed at the front but we got the eggs florentine, eggs royale and two Americanos. Being from San Francisco, we are a bit picky about coffee and like it filtered, large, and very hot, so the lukewarm and very small Americanos lost a star for this place. The staff was efficient and friendly and the décor is really cute. The eggs were tasty but really different than in America– they were cooked a bit longer and the yolks were orange!

Cute enough place and right by the tube stop. I ordered an egg white omelette. Props for it not being oily, very sizable and tasty. Didn’t come with toast, but I asked for some and they brought it out(not sure if they usually charge for this or not). My big beef with this place is it’s a little slow and some of the servers seem out of it. Overall, a pretty good breakfast option in the area with you want table service.

Small, but really good food. We had an awesome smoked salmon benedict, yogurt and granola, and very good coffee. We came back the next day for the bread pudding was also really good.

They have great salads and food there is fresh! The place is very nice(a little hipster/trendy) but nice. Not sure if I think this place pricey or not but anyway it’s really good! I had the Fish cake 9£, and it was delicious! I would definitely go back for more! The deice is a bit low but I wasn’t in a hurry and the good thing is that even when they are busy they don’t rush you out or anything I found it a pretty relaxing place to stay.

I agree with Rich M on most points(except the food, it’s atrocious): It’s too squashy to fit your handbag and yourself, and don’t think you can’t dare a private conversation with your lover. The food is abominable. It’s wrong for them to charge. The coffee is the worst. Worse than American. The service is nitty picky as if they are holding seats for Queen Elizabeth herself. As if anyone actually wants to be there in the first place. Memorial to Bad Kitchens is one of the biggest reasons I’ve stopped staying at Number 16(hotel) when I’m in London. I need a variety of great breakfast restaurants/cages, and this seems like the one that took it all away.

Two words. Brownie and coffee. Mmmmm. Dulce de leche brownie and mocha coffee here are sublime. The brownie was so damn delicious and came with vanilla ice cream, they know how it’s meant to be! My mocha coffee really surprised me with it’s smoothness and a taste that somehow doesn’t have that bitter aftertaste you usually can’t get away from with most coffees. I like my coffee sweet and milky and may have only had bitter-free coffee like this one other time and I really think it’s something special. I did also try the beef lasagne here, which my friend really liked but was too much meat and not enough taste for me. This place does have really crowded seating, but if I’m having coffee and brownies like that, I might not even notice from up on Cloud Nine.

Wonderful brunch venue right next to South Kensington station. The menu is great with a decent selection of dishes that should please most people. The décor is characterful and the service from the staff is great even during busy times!
