I’ve never actually been to the clothing store, but every time I’m nosing around this area I always pop into the home décor shop. I love what they have here. It’s one of the only shops of this type that I’ll stop, gasp, and say, «Oh wow I have to have that.» A lot of their stuff is very gimmicky and kitchy, yes, but a lot of it is also very well designed and smart. Last time I was in I desperately wanted to buy a red plastic end table that is moulded to look like a plain table that a red cloth has been thrown over — i.e. the red plastic looks like a table cloth — and comes down to the end and forms the legs of the table — brilliant! Recently purchased a painting of a horse here. I named it Bad Horse. It will be hanging in my sitting room soon. Definitely worth a visit for gifts or for something to spruce up your flat.

Mrs Robinson is one of the most eclectic and funky furniture shops London has to offer. It sells really chic tea kettles for £55 a pop and really awesome, original pieces like ‘The Book Box’(a funky little box to store all your books in) for £42. I must admit, most everything in this store is pricey. Don’t think you’re going to buy a really amazing lamp in here for under twenty quid, you better bring some dough. If you’re into really inventive and stylish home décor and you’re willing to spend £50 on a really nice piece then have a look in this store. You will be impressed.

Extending from a home and furnishings shop on one side of the road to a clothing and accessories shop on the other. I love the original home furnishing side where you will find stylish accessories, lighting, chairs, drawers and shelves crammed in at full capacity. I find the clothing shop in contrast rather dull and uninspiring. The collections seem to merge into each other as a muddy mass(with the colourful spark of Orla Kiely occupying one rail) Mrs Robinson’s fashion is however, normally quite popular. Maybe it is just not my shop.

The things in here are lovely, but unfortunately it is a bit pricey! However a few bargains are to be found if you look closely. They sell lots of interesting gift items, homewear stuff, lighting, furniture and kitchen items, and is great for gifts for mum. The new clothes branch of the shop across the road has some really pretty dresses and accessories, although again a bit on the costly side. Certainly worth a browse around, although if you’re like me you’ll probably end up leaving empty handed anyway. A great ‘bits’ shop.
