Very nice, very clean and a polite helpful staff that is right there when you need them. Just off the beaten path of baker street and the shops. A boutique kind of place setting in Winchester, a nice area. Shopping within a quick walk from the hotel. Great morning breakfast as well. A small bar at the reception desk for beer and cocktails if you like. Pubs are a block away and serve food as well. Now, two things that you need to consider: First is that there is no elevator to the upper floors and there are several of them. If you are not in good physical shape this could be a problem. Also, the bed we had in our«fancy» room was possibly one of the worst I’ve slept on. The old fashioned spring loaded type and if you have a partner, any slight movement and you shake with them. Sore hips and shoulders in the morning. I dont understand hotels that load up with all the cool amenities etal but go cheap on the beds. After all, thats mostly what you do in a hotel, especially in a place like this. The Montagu is a very good place to stay for your London Visit. However, if your accustomed to the higher end places and what they often bring it could possibly disappoint. The Montague is no dive. Its classy and perfect with a couple of shortcomings to expect.

This is a beautiful cozy hotel in the heart of London. It’s like your own private room on a quiet(for London) street in a great location. The staff are friendly and the rooms come complete with all the creature comforts including free WiFi, tea, coffee and water all complimentary. The rooms are modern but not Spartan and quite spacious for London standards. While not the cheapest room in town it is certainly good value for money. I will stay again in the future.
