I’ve been there 3 times as it’s close by to where I worked for a while and each time I ordered a breakfast fried egg sandwich in the hope that if I explicitly ask for the fried eggs to be cooked so that they are still runny, that is what I would get. Each and every time I’ve been disappointed with very overcooked and hardened fried eggs! How hard can it be to cook an egg sandwich? Coffee is undrinkable too. My guess is that they simply don’t care judging by the other reviews. Do not recommend.

Joanna R.‘s review is spot on. I’ve walked by this place numerous times and thought their outdoor tables would be a perfect place to enjoy a coffee and people watch from behind my laptop. Unluckily the sun was on the other side of the street when I finally decided to check it out, so I snagged a place inside by the window. I was one of only five people in the place when I walked in and ordered my Americano at the counter. The woman working behind the sandwich display case brusquely told me to take a seat. I popped on my headphones to drown out Celine Dion and got to work on revamping my CV. Because the place was fairly empty and no one else was waiting to be served, I figured my caffine fix would come quickly… I was very wrong. Apparently chopping tomatoes and onions in preparation for the lunch rush was much more important.(And the sandwiches did look tasty, so maybe they’re on to something.) Ten minutes later my Americano arrived. I usually take my coffee black, but the beverage I was given was so bitter with a hint of burnt that I dumped in milk as well as two sugars. As soon as I could see the bottom of the cup I packed up my things and hit the road.

Moccha Café is like a licorice flavored jelly bean. From the outside it looks inviting and exciting. I usually forget about the licorice factor and think«oooh, grape!» and then I bite into it and immediately spit it back out in disgust, stunned that I’ve been fooled by the black jelly bean AGAIN! OK, Moccha Café isn’t bad, it’s just really disappointing! I’ve passed by a few times and been tempted to stop in because it looks very cute so today I finally gave it a try. The minute I walked inside I realised already that it wasn’t quite what I’d expected. Nothing shocking really, just… ‘oh’ … The gals working there were very sweet but the coffee is just blah to the extreme. When my cappuccino was ready they just put it on the counter and didn’t say anything so I had to walk up and ask if it was for me. I don’t like that. That said, the prices are very fair and there’s free wi-fi and it’s conveniently located. However, I’m afraid the boring coffee and lack of coziness will make it unlikely I’ll be back anytime soon.

What would YOU do for free wi-fi? Would you sit in a relatively uncozy coffee/sandwich shop and remain there as yummy mummy after yummy mummy came in, surrounded your chair with a veritable garage sale of baby buggies, then proceeded to make you feel as if you’re somehow destroying the sanctity of their make-shift day care? Cause apparently I would. …If the coffee was descent and the wi-fi was fast and free. (Which it was.)

This café on Essex Road is a good place to duck into if you need a quick snack or coffee. It’s got free WiFi which is always a bonus! Due to it’s location a main road, I’m not too keen on it for a brunch/lunch meeting spot with friends as I like to sit outside if the sun is shining, and in peace! Moccha does nice sandwiches, salads and coffees, nothing extraordinary but still fresh and tasty.

This little café gets a lot of sunlight in the day, which makes it a popular spot for brunch. The sandwiches are fresh enough, and the coffee is pretty good. The best thing about this place is that it has free WiFi and also some terminals where you can access the internet. Food and internet in one place?! Score! The service is pretty friendly, and they’re happy to let you linger. The only drawback is that the noisy traffic from Essex Road might engulf you in its exhaust fumes while you’re enjoying your breakfast outside. Indoors, you might get a bit uncomfortable on the chairs. Well its not Café Nero, but it will do.
