Ming Chinese Restaurant

My favorite place to go to for Chinese food. Iv’e been going here ever since I moved to Walthamstow. The food is delicious, my favorite being chicken curry. I also love the singapore fried rice. Price is good, Staff are nice and the restaurant is nice and cosy with a calm athmosphere.

They’ve had a refurb and they get a half-​star more. I’m trying to persuade them to go for a kitsch Chinatown look, and also to do dim sum on Sundays (once a month). If there’s anyone out there who’d be up for dim sum in Walthamstow, let me know.

One star deducted for atmosphere and décor — fairly atrocious, and often empty — but the food alone is good enough to achieve four stars (service ranges from friendly and attentive to distracted, depending on who’s around). A small, local family business that serves great Chinese food until late (except on Monday — it’s closed).
More popular as a takeaway, it’s quiet during the week and busy at the weekends.
The Singapore rice noodles are the best in town (that town being the ‘stow), and prices are low — between £4.50 and £7 for a main, so you may be pushed to use the £10 card minimum if you’re alone.
My favourite Chinese takeaway for miles. Fortunately only 200 yards away.
