This M&S is small in comparison to some of the behemoths around London. It’s similar in size to their Simply Food stores but does have a selection of clothing and other stuff. There are always massive queues at the checkouts, not because it’s ever that busy, there are just never enough staff to open more than 2 of them. Also, people of Hackney — «Hurry up with your bagging!». Seriously, how long does it take to fish the purse out of your trolley bag and place your 2 ready meals into a carrier bag? The assistants never seem to be in a rush either. Don’t go here for a proper shop, it just hasn’t got the range. Think of it as somewhere where you can grab a few essentials for your evening meal and you’ll be satisfied.

I bought honey and sandwiches here. I need to try the chocolates. Its handy to get hand wipes or muesli from the food hall. This is where I go for fruit, vege, and wine.

I’m a big fan of Marks and Spencer because of the quality products they sell. Everything they sell is really good quality. I’m most likely to buy the tomato and marcarspone sauce and some fresh pasta whenever I come in here because it’s just delicious. I love their mapel syrup and pecan museli also but not as much as my French friend who loves it so much that whenever I visit her she asks me to bring some over to her. The garlic mayo is another favourite, it’s made with smoked garlic and it’s absolutely out of this world.

This is my local Marks & Spencer store, and I am incredibly happy that Hackney Central has one of these places. I have to say, the Marks & Spencer experience is so much better than the Tescos experience. The reason being that M & S is not packed full to the brim with groceries, but only tends to stock quality things. The Hackney Central store has a very decent selection of meat, dry goods, wine, clothes, fruit and vege, plus more. One thing I have noticed is that the women’s underwear section seems to be very big, and I feel like the men’s selection could be a bit bigger. I’m being petty now, so I think I will stop it there.
