Marisko Seafood Restaurant

Fresh seafood. Some are still alive before they cook it. I tried everything but the lobster. Everything was superb but the steak was a bit of a let down.
It’s a cosy place and the pricing is decent.
Interior still looks a bit bare and unfinished. I’m sure a revamp would bring in customers! More people need to come here.

Great fresh seafood that’s cooked to order. The owners told me they buy the seafood every morning from Billingsgate market. It’s a bit of a quirky place and their marketing doesn’t seem to be great — no one has heard of it and it’s always really quiet. Maybe it’ll pick up — it’s only been open for a couple of months. But at least at the moment I suspect they’re not making much (and probably losing) money if they’re having to ditch the unsold seafood every night (and I’m sure they are — the seafood is ridiculously fresh — some of it still alive when you order it). And they are very fairly priced — both the food and wine list is much cheaper than you’ll find for comparable quality seafood elsewhere. They seem to on a daily basis have one or two specials on their menu which in fact work out to be cheaper than buying all the ingredients and cooking at home. I’m writing this review because I love this place and want it to stay open, so am hoping other people will start going there too. They also do takeaway if the prison-​proximate location and quirky interior don’t appeal.
