My coat lost 4 buttons and I have been wanting to find some cute buttons to put on the coat again. So I Unilocaled buttons and found this place. I went today and found the shop easy to spot and it’s small but really cute. There were tons of buttons for coats there and I finally landed my eyes on some that would look great with my coat. I ended up getting 6 buttons for 99 pence each. This store was rather close to where I live so I didn’t have issues getting here and I took the bus and walked so it was pretty convenient getting here as well. I’ll have to post a picture of my coat with my new buttons once I get the buttons on. Thank you Lyndons Stich and Beads!

A fun and quirky haberdashery shop. Prices are a bit high, but they seem to have a really nice selection of flosses and threads and some basic low-end yarns.

Not the closest«craft» store near me but was recommended to me by a local from the area and its as close to a Michael’s as I can find at the moment. If anything I came here to kill two birds with one stone as it is right on the edge of portobello road and I had yet to check out the market since I’ve moved here. The title is fitting. Jewelry making stuff upstairs, sewing/knitting stuff downstairs. If you’re interested in either you can lose yourself in all the bits and bobs of loveliness. Might come back here closer to my next payday.

This is one of the most amazing craft stores I’ve ever been to! I cannot recommend it enough. The variety of crafty supply items is outstanding, they’ve got a very wide range of the things they stock. They have fancy shoe laces, lots of ribbons and trims, jewellery making items, yarns, knitting and craft books, gadgets and so many more things that I can’t think of that they sell. Oh, fabric dyes! Both the machine and hand dye ones. Just fantastic. Must go back soon to stock up.

Lyndons is one of the old-style shops which make Portobello Road fun and interesting, as well as useful. I hope it will never be turned into a coffee shop! The tiny shop is crammed full with beads, trimmings and yarn. I have never walked out empty handed.

You wouldn’t necessarily come to think of how difficult in can be to find something as simple as pink beads. I desperately needed those once and oh boy I had to go through a lot of trouble to find any. Luckily we still have stores like Lyndons Stich&Beads. Everything in the shop is in tip top order and the some parts of the selection must be from decades ago, real vintage soon. I like this little shop and when ever its possible I try get my ribbons and buttons here rather than some giants stores from central, like they even had any selection now days.

You quickly forget the noise and dirt of Portobello Road once inside this great little store — reams of ribbon and well-organized boxes of beads are crammed into a small but well-organized space. Best of all, while there’s a ton of variety, nothing is cost-prohibitive and the staff is sweet as can be.
