We went here for a birthday dinner. The interior is quite nice and spacious(at least when it’s only half full, as it was when we visited). The wine was so-so, and the mains a bit drab. I had to order a side of veg to make mine feel like a proper curry, rather than just rice and salmon with curry sauce on top. The veg that was in there(some red pepper) hadn’t been sliced up enough for the curry to be eaten with the spoon provided, which was thoughtless. The wine was average, but the white chocolate pannacotta was actually flavourful. The service was quite poor, though. As it was quiet, some of the waitresses were simply chatting away to each other, so they completely bodged bring us our food. Our sides and two of our mains were set in front of another family, who after some confusion indicated that the mains weren’t what they’d ordered. Sadly, the sides were. They then waited ten minutes for their mains, with sides getting cold on the table, while we waited ten minutes for replacement sides as our mains got cold. Not once did the waitress give any apology or indication of what had happened, despite the fact that we watched her do it!

A nice locals kind of spot just off Wimbledon Village. Enjoyed the seared scallops as well as the Lemon Sole & Smoked Salmon ballotine as starters. The chicken was good but a bit too savory(beefy?) flavored for my taste. The menu didn’t include some of my favorite dishes from this place like the grilled tuna but it was fine if not overly inspired. Worth visiting and among the choices at Wimbledon would have to be considered among the best in show(altho Thai Tho up the road, is the Blue Ribbon winner)

Although I agree with the other comments on the décor of this restaurant and the friendly staff I am afraid that I was not impressed with the food. The starter was delicious, no complaints. The main course, a Veal dinner came out on a bed of noodles? Not written on the menu, and the veal itself was deep fried! Tough and tasteless. Now on to the dessert, Oh My! Two biscuits, three small cubes of fudge and 3 small pieces of truffle chocolate. It looked like they had been taken out of a chocolate box and a fudge bag and placed on a small dish which was then placed in larger dish and I was given a knife and fork to eat this with! This should have been made clear on the menu what it was that I was going to be getting. I was very dissappointed. A friend ordered the Lamb which came with no vegetables again no mention in the menu and when she asked for vegetables to accompany her lamb, they bought out, no word of a lie, 4 runners beans!!! Also did not like the fact that the staff though they could just keep bringing out more bottles of wine WITHOUT asking anyone if we needed more. I do NOT recommend going here.

I thought it was about time I wrote a review about one of my favourite restaurants. I have been to the lighthouse many times. Booking is essential as this is a popular place. The décor is modern and spacious. The tables are placed sensibly making it easy for all diners to feel comfortable. You are not going to bother anyone else. The one thing that is probably that makes this place stand-out from others is how child friendly it is. We went there with our 2 year old, who turned her nose up at the pre-prepared food we had for her. We asked for a child’s portion of something from the main menu, and they were more than happy to prepare it. When she refused to eat this(it was lovely food) we were not even charged for it. They offered ice-cream instead which went down a treat. The wines they offer are obviously hand selected, from not the most obvious of vineyards. Our particular favourite is Gavi di Gavi. The vintages are always accurate; which is my pet-hate. The meals change quite frequently some can be a little over ambitious or busy, but it works. All with an Italian /French style. If you are looking for a nice day or night out this place is highly recommended. As I said I have been many times and never had a bad experience or even a hint of dissatisfaction.

Although it is a bit pricy, this restaurant is great for a posh and special night out. The interior is minimalist, yet well designed. If you can’t afford a main meal, a starter and a side is a great alternative!

As its name suggests, Lighthouse is bright, light and fresh. The restaurant itself is airy and modern and there is a lovely courtyard area too. The menu, which changes every fortnight, is Italian-influenced with a contemporary twist and uses seasonal ingredients to create inventive dishes. I think this sometimes means the food is lacking in identity but does that matter if it tastes good? The staff are very friendly and the waiting staff really know about the food. I once went here when I was pregnant and the staff were very clued up about all the unsuitable items on the menu which in my experience was unusual and very welcome. Lighthouse is a smart but relaxed venue for a memorable meal.
