It’s surprising there aren’t more breakfast/brunch oriented places in Chelsea — you’ll find a few bakeries and coffee shops here and there, but if you want a real home cooked breakfast Le Pain Quotidien might be one of your better options. This Belgian chain has a few things going for it though. First, definitely ask for the chocolate sauces/spreads for your bread. They’re like Nutella, but more chocolatey and less nutty(aka delicious!). Next, you’ll find options like scrambled or soft boiled eggs, meats and cheeses, and lots of other continental favorites to try. You won’t find much in the way of sweet stuff for breakfast here, although they do have some pastries and other goodies, but for people who like savory, you might be in heaven.

Good food but shocking service. Given this place too many chances but today’s experience means I won’t be back. Rude and incompetent waiter. Don’t go.

Why doesn’t Unilocal allow a zero star review? This place doesn’t even deserve one star!!! Had the rudest service ever today from an absolutely useless waiter! The funny thing was that as we have given this place many chances in the past we actually guessed how bad the service would be(two choices we made were unavailable, despite us actually asking what was available as this has happened many times in the past!!) when we pointed out to the waiter that he should have known what was available he told us that he couldn’t possibly know what was and wasn’t available! And that this must make him a bad waiter! This was about the only thing he got right today!!! Give this place the widest berth, walk slightly further towards Worlds End and there are much better options(without pig ignorant servers).

This place is great for a laid back meal or snack, without having to feel like you are eating in a fast food joint. I’ve been back a few times and everything I’ve eaten/drank has been quite good. In particular they do a really nice personal pot of coffee, and their sandwiches are also great to boot. Reliable and recommended.

I think you need to keep to the salads and baked breads and quiches… when you go for the expensive cooked options this place is very disappointing. I had the chicken and mushroom pie, which was all mushroom and no chicken and was foul, actually and very expensive. My friend had the duck dish which she said was OK, but didn’t look like much to me. LPQ is very attractive looks and presentation-wise, though. The salads and quiches are nice… if you like girlie food.
