Do you love cheese? Are you comfortable with spending a bit more to have the ultimate cheese experience? If yes, you will love this place. It features a cheese locker. Not only can you have a cheese emersion, the helpful staff will let you sample cheeses until you find the one right for you. In front, Fromagerie also has a charming restaurant area. The food, while solid, features snacks. We love to go and grab wine on a Friday evening. It tends to be decently slow(which is appreciated) and it is fun to drink in a relaxed environment with cheese and candle light.

You walk into an oxygenated cave to discover an Ali Baba’s cava of cheeses from across the continent from hard to soft, goats to ewes, from pure to herb-wrapped or truffle infused… and they have an expert knowledge of cheese!

I have been here so many times. The service is laughably bad. You can fall asleep and not be disturbed. The staff either purposely ignore you or look at you with a zombie stare. The food, wine and cheese are excellent although there are buzzing flies to keep you company. The seating is a la mode school refectory type benches and inexorably uncomfortable unless you are under 30 which I am not. The Aubaine across the street has an excellent view of the Fromagerie and has good food, service and seats. This would be the only way to enjoy this rather quirky rude institution.

Excellent cheese shop. Ask for Gabriel when you get there — he’s amazing, and I’ve never had a better conversation about cheese(trust me, I’ve had more than you think). They carry a couple of rare American cheeses, too!

This wonderful little cheese shop/café is one of my favourite places in London. If you’re as much of a cheese fan as I am(I’m a pretty big fan) then you will be in for a real treat. The cheese is out of this world and the staff are more than happy to show you the purpose-built cheese room which will make you weak at the knees! They also host special events which are equally as decadent and just fabulous! I went to a fondue evening about a year ago and had the most enjoyable evening! Great for special occasions as it is quite pricey — you’ll find me here on my birthday most years!

This is a bit of a dream shop. The kind of place I would love to own. The informal tables give an intimate feel and the menu is fantastic, such a wonderful choice and generous portions. The cheese boards are incredible and offer great selections which change all the time. Perfect to share. I’ve always been with friends, but this would be a great place to take a date.

So this is what it’s like to die and go to cheese heaven. The look and feel of La Fromagerie screams effortless cool but is surprisingly staffed by friendly, knowledgable staff who appear to love the foodstuffs as much as the patrons. First things first, breakfast at the restaurant is amazing. The concentration, unsurprisingly, is on letting the true flavors of the food sing through simple recipes. Service was excellent and the latte delicious. Now, the produce: The smoked salmon is made in-house and is so tasty; the bread is to die for; and you can pick up some amazing cheeses that shockingly won’t break the bank. All in all, this is a foodies paradise but can definitely be appreciated by anyone visiting the neighborhood.

Trendy and tasty place for a snack, but ensure you try to reserve a table. It gets very busy around lunch and at the weekends.

I came here with a colleague on my first morning in London per his suggestion and I was pleased with his recommendation. We walked in and there is a grocery store/market and then in the back is the restaurant portion. We were seated right away at a small table for 2 and given menus. Our server came over and took our drink order while we looked over the menu. I decided to go with the Farmhouse Breakfast which included 3 different cheeses, cantaloupe, yogurt, prosciutto, and bread. It was all really good and fresh. I also got English breakfast tea, since I was in London. Breakfast was fulfilling, but not heavy. After we ate, we walked around the store and went into there cheese refrigerator which is a climate controlled room filled with tons of cheeses. It was really neat and the guy working in there was very friendly and let us try a few cheeses before purchasing. This is a great local store and restaurant that I hope to visit when I’m back in London.

Everyone, without exception, should come here to wander around and gawk at the products, the produce and prices. A wonderful grocer that proudly displays beautiful home grown veg that displays not a wrinkle, a crack, a wart or a disfigurement of any kind. The cakes look as if they have been prepared for an immanent photo shoot, and the prices clearly mark the items as luxury products — but with luxury comes desirability, and I want them, i want them all. There is a cheese shop on the front right corner of the shop, one stocked with plenty of foreign wares and lovingly curated by a very helpful French chap who is more than happy to let you taste before you buy and one that willingly shares French recipes that involve copious amounts of great French cheese. In the summer they have taken to offering cooked food at lunch time from a stand outside. Prices are exorbitant, but the quality is amazing, the tastes are perfect yet the portion are well on the small side. I really do like this place and will continue to be a customer. Would it be a better place with lower prices… I don’t think so, it is a swanky place with beautiful/tasty products and they demand a premium.

This is the kind of place I would like to run if I grow up. The cheese shop is out of this world. The staff knowledgeable, the selection fantastic. I found it by accident — when researching«Real Bread». There is a movement in London towards properly made, artisinal bread. Long, slow fermentation, natural ingredients, good shaping… La Fromagerie popped up as such a place. I went and was blown away. Walking in to the main store, you are overwhelmed by fresh smells of mint, basil, and the general goodness of fresh produce. They keep the cheese in its own room(cool and smelly). Some of the cheeses need ankle bracelets to stop them from escaping. Especially the Muenster. One of the best ever. And then you can sit and have a glass of wine and a cheese/charcuterie plate in another part of the rather sprawling space. Absolutely outstanding.

This review is only for breakfast as I have not shopped in the grocery store. Service is always good and I really enjoy the atmosphere from the heavy wood furniture and wood floors while surrounded by gourmet grocery, including the most amazing selection of English and European cheeses. I have found the coffee to be hit or miss. They serve it in a French press(or cafetiere as it is called in the UK) and twice the coffee was ground too fine leaving a copious amount of silt in the bottom of each cup. The use of a French press requires a coarser grind. Breakfast here is also much more expensive than at other options in the Marylebone area. That said at least once I like to come here for the cheese plate and atmosphere.

this is one of those places that makes wifey and I want to move to London. The selection of cheese is amazing, and it’s a shame that potential US customs issues kept us from buying half of their stock! We als had a very lovely brunch. All of the ingredients were extremely fresh and seemed as if they had been brought from some hidden farmland behind the store.

If you like cheese, this is the best place to visit in London. And I’ve eaten a lot of cheese. They have a whole refrigerated room full of cheese, from local English favourites to France, of course, and beyond. If you sit down for a meal, you can’t make reservations but you can enjoy delicious platters of cheese. On my most recent visit, I enjoyed the two platters available for breakfast and split them with my group. Gluten free notes: Cheese is naturally gluten free. Plenty for you to eat here.

4 * — Ambience 4 * — flavor and selection of cheeses 4* — selection of locally sourced goods 4* — service Had the large cheese board and the beef charcuterie. Admittedly I just came out a 10 hour flight, eating raw beef and eating cheese wasn’t quite the best thing for my lactose-intolerant tummy but even in my jet-lagged dazed, I appreciated the the flavors and the atmosphere.

Shakespeare wrote about this place: «This blessed clot, this earth, this realm, this cheese.» Fromage is actually just part of this gourmet shop/eatery. My review isn’t based on eating here, but rather shopping here. For cheese. Here you’ll find — in a special climate controlled and glass-sealed room — a very nice variety of cheese from all over the world(though mostly Europe). Unlike many cheese vendor experiences, where everything is down low in a glass case, everything here is on display, right in front of your nose(planned perfectly). This allows you to browse on your own, but I’ve always found there to be staff on hand to answer questions and offer samples. Just today I walked in and asked for, «runny, smelly, French for 2» and just a few minutes later I’m heading out the door with 5 quid’s worth of liquid gold. «To Brie or not to Brie. That is the question.»

Marylebone is a special place for lovers of London and La Fromagerie does the same for lovers of cheese and all that accompanies it. What if a good friend had spent a part of her life understanding all there is about cheese? Well her house would look like this, well almost. The feeling here is like a festive occasion so yes there is a busy atmosphere, lots of like minded people lost in food heaven. This is a slow food type of place so you better feel like settling in and relaxing. With the well curated wine list and such well thought out food where else would you possibly want to be? You can follow on twitter to see the days menu and pounce when the mood is right. I enjoy a communal table, especially when traveling since your sure to met interesting people along the way. Let them set you up with wine, cheese and charcuterie and lose yourself in food heaven!

What a lovely place! La Fromagerie consists of a delicatessen(with a separate cheese section) and integrated shared dining area. Judging by how busy the place was on a Monday lunchtime, I’d be a bit scared to come here at the weekend. They offer a tasting menu with accompanying wine, as well as an a la carte option of yummy delicacies. We opted for an absolutely delicious tart and frittata and home made strawberry & rhubarb cordial(they probably could have been a bit more generous with the sirup quantity). We just about managed to avoid the temptation of a cheese board, but just couldn’t resist trying one of the sweet options. The Sicilian apple cake was divine and much lighter than feared. I will definitely come back when next in the area; or when planning my next dinner party, as all the produce in the shop looks delicious and quite unusual.
