Don’t get all the panning of this place. On a trip to London, after eating plates of breads and muffins and English food, I was desperate for some Indian dishes. Went in(sign was half pushed into the roof, could barely read name) and the staff was very nice.(Maybe because it was completely empty except for some couple that was sitting outside smoking cigarettes and a pile of empty beer bottles on the ground by their table. Of course, the water was unopened.) I told the waiter about my allergies to eggs and dairy and he offered to make me a dish that was not on the menu– prawn bhuna(which got me a little bit confused– why is it not on the menu if you are going to serve it?) Dish came in about ten minutes, and actually tasted very good– I ate all of it. I skipped dessert because I was getting pretty tired due to jet lag. Anyway, this was a pretty nice experience, considering the reviews on Unilocal.I have had worse.

Went to this restaurant on Christmas for their set meal. It was horrible, absolutely tasteless food. They did not have a vegetarian set meal option, the server did not know the dishes on the set menu and when asked about which dishes each person will receive, he said«I am not sure». Apart from the food, the service itself was disrespectful and terrible. When we complained to them about the quality of the food, they asked us, «why did you come here then?». We were shooed out of the restaurant for complaining about the quality of food and service. They did not get their food, service or the spelling of the restaurant right. Worst Indian restaurant I have been to in London.

Not quality at all. Poor service, we waited an hour for food. Paneer was tasteless. Bone-in chicken was really good though. Overall, not worth it.

I was really excited for Indian food, and went to the first restaurant I saw — Kwality Indian. I guess I should have known from the title, but this place was really unimpressive. The staff didn’t bring us any tap water even when we asked(it took 3 tries). They took food over to us, then brought it away as if they had brought us the wrong order, then brought it back again. Finally — the food just isn’t that great. It’s not that flavorful, there aren’t that many options, and really there’s just better places in London to go.

There is so much good Indian food in London that you are really spoiled for choice. Which means that even if the food is good(which is not in dispute here) you should really look to the service given. I was the proprietor’s first customer and you wouldn’t think that he cared at all that I was there. Indifferent service and no lassi. Too many alternatives to ever return.

Been here a couple of times. Each time at least one of our party wasn’t feeling well the next day. Sure, the big Kingfisher beers are fun for an out-of-towner like me and I don’t get enough Indian food to be a true gourmand but to me it was pretty ordinary. Not like the spectacular Indian foods I’ve had in East Ham. I’ve heard more than once someone say«What do you expect from a place that spells Quality with a K.»

I have not been here in years but remember it as being OK, but not up to some of the better Indian restaurants in South Kensington(Khan’s of Kensington, Noor Jahan, Mothi Mahal, Little India, & Memories of India are ALL superior) and surrounding areas. The thing that gets it 2 stars instead of 3 is the fact the actual TANDOORI grilled meats are average, at best. I think if you have the word«Tandoori» in your title it should be at least slightly above average. The one time I have eaten in and twice walked in for takewaway the service was polite & effiicent.

The food wasn’t very authentic and the portions were super-small. The paneer shashlik seemed like it was a burnt. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you are looking for a decent Indian meal. The one positive point in its favor is that its in a great location really close to 3 museums !

My boyfriend and I ended up eating here because we were looking for a place and have been trying to find good Indian food in London given there is so much said about London having great Indian food. I won’t give this restaurant a one star because I felt Kwality at least made an effort in the service department. The food however was simply not great or even good. It’s not terrible but it’s just very bland. Curries range in flavor but most good curries have some sort of distinctive spices in their taste. For our mains we had the mango flavored curry, which, the waiter recommended we try when we asked, and we also had the chicken Tikka Masala, of which we’ve probably eaten dozens of times before at other restaurants. For an app we had the samosas, and again, we’ve had many many of those before. The vegetable samosas, if I had to guess, I’d say they come frozen because I’ve never had a samosa at an Indian restaurant with pastry like this one and the vegetables were all cut into tiny, perfectly square pieces signifying mass production — not to mention the vegetables were just not seasoned. Could have sworn I’ve seen samosas like this in the frozen isle at the store. The curries were equally bland which again left me also wondering whether the chicken was frozen as it had that hint of rubbery, microwaved taste. The plain basmati rice was again, boring and bland having no spices or seasoning whatsoever. Most plain basmati rices I’ve had at Indian restaurants have at least some sort of seasoning — a cardamon pod and some salt thrown in if not saffron. Finally the garlic naan tasted as if the garlic were an after thought and was dropped haphazardly on the dough which was baked to a degree in which it passed as naan, but it failed to impress in the taste department. All in all this place wasn’t that expensive but it’s a step below mediocre so you would be better off ordering take out from an Indian place across the river in Battersea.

Service: We ate here Dec 28th and it took a good 1.5 hrs from when we entered the restaurant to when we had food on the table. Other guests got up and left after waiting 15 – 20 minutes to have their order taken. Food: The waiter had recommended two Deluxe 2 person Talis as enough food for 5 adults but it was far from sufficient quantity of food and the quality wasn’t anything to write home about either. When challenged after the meal, the waiter blamed both the delay and food quality on everyone not working for the holidays to which my reply was that if they couldn’t cook for guests they shouldn’t be open The restaurant gets one bonus star for being honest: we accidentally left a backpack when leaving and it was still there when we got back to look for it a couple of hours later. Verdict: we won’t be going back and if you can avoid it, you shouldn’t either

The food here is sensational. Stumbled upon this place after visiting the Museum of Natural History and thought it to be an exceptional find. The Nan, channa masala, the incredibly flavorful okra, wine — everything made for a terrific dining experience.

Wow, it’s too bad I couldn’t give this place zero stars. Where to start? Well first of all, the staff took forever to serve us drinks and when one of our party left for the bathroom, he didn’t bother to come over and get her drink order until about 10 minutes later. After that we got an order of papad, one Chicken Rogan Josh, one Chicken Tikka Masala, one Lamb Korma, two orders of rice, and two orders of plain Naan. I’ve eaten Indian food dozens of times in many of the world’s largest cities, and I can say by far that this place serves the worst curry dishes I’ve ever tasted. Everything was incredibly bland and without spice. Then the nightmare really started. After being so upset about the very poor quality of the food, I wanted to leave the establishment immediately, and of course it took another 10 minutes for a waiter to finally come and deliver the bill. Then upon opening the bill they wanted to charge us over 4 pounds for the papad, 4 pounds for the rice, 4 pounds for the Naan, and 10 pounds for out drinks(one beer, one ginger ale, and one small still water), at which point our bill for our terrible food was 44 pounds for 3 people! Instead of disputing the charges as I should have done(I added it up later and realized we were over charged about 10 pounds), I put down a fifty pound note and waited for my change. When the waiter returned he brought me over 6 pounds in change where the largest two coins were 50p and everything else was 20p and 10p coins. Great exactly what I wanted! A cumbersome pocket full of coins as a reward for eating their terrible food, being overcharged for it, and dealing with their poor service. Never, Never Eat Here

The wife and I ate here regularly during our years living in London. Absolutely our favorite place. We were regulars in the truest sense of the word. We’d simply sit down, and the servers would remember what we liked and brought it to us. Possibly the best Vindaloo I’ve had anywhere. I’ve since been trying to find something comparable in California but haven’t succeeded just yet.

This is the Indian restaurant which I try to visit once on every visit to London, and — at the now maybe 20+ visits — I with the main dishes I never had a bad experience so far. I found the food delicious and the service friendly. As for the starter, I mostly eat just Papadam, because I like the way they make the sauces(at Kwality Tandoori, I can eat even the Mint sauce which has so often a «cheap» taste at Indian places). I rarely had dessert there, so I can’t comment on this.

This place ROCKS the house!!! I saw this place in Spring 08 but for some stupid reason I didn’t stop here. When I returned to London in Jan 09, I made a point to stop here for dinner. It was a cold Janny night and I was craving something hot & spicy. I ordered a simple chicken tandoori meal with sides. It took FRICKIN forever to get me my food and I was getting kind of irritable. ‘Coz normally in the States, the food is made already in some vat and they just heat it up for you. Not at Kwality – they value Quallity over Convenience! Who cares if they can’t spell! The chicken tandoori was the most amazing thing – tender, marinated and delicious. And better than anything I ever had in the States. The sides(dal and channa masala) were unbelievable, and the Naan was to die for. The speed and lack of grace at which I ate the food probably suggested to the owner that I was some kind of Charles Dickens urchin that hadn’t eaten in a fortnight and I had somehow been given a minor treasure that I gobbled up fast! Truly an amazing experience in London!

We only went there because Khan’s around the corner was closed. And bad luck. The waiter looked and behaved anything between unwilling and hostile. The food was eatable but not good. All three dishes looked and almost tasted the same. One naan was underdone. Just the Popadoms were alright. They do a lunchtime buffet, but when other guests wanted it, the waiter only stirred it up with a face of disgust and said. Too late! It seems that they not only can’t spell but also can’t provide quality!
