Where is the flavor? Everyone raves about this truck but I found my burrito quit bland. It needed more meat and sauce and less rice. I think this is typical of burritos(both Mexican and other) on this side of the pond– need more sauce in general. I am an avid fan of Korean burritos and this one disappointed me. For a place with such great reviews I wonder why everyone thinks so highly of it. Please share!

In a place like Street Feast, its hard to justify having a full-sized burrito when there are so many things to try and so little stomach space… but on my 2nd trip, I found some space and tried a chicken and beef burrito, it was super yummy, flavourful and moreish. The service was quick and meat delicious. I was wrong, you need to find space for this burrito!

When the weather is nice, who wants to eat indoors? Last Friday I thought it would be good to visit the Southbank market — really intending to go to Korrito. As I walked over the bridge I noticed another set of stalls — ooh Kerb street market! I rarely get to make it to their markets since they are usually placed either north or east. After first having a look at all the stalls, Kimchinary caught my eye. I wanted a Korean burrito anyway so might as well try something new. I ordered the Oxcheek burrito and took a seat just a few meters away. So good! Compared to Korrito, I loved that they toasted the tortilla so it stayed together a lot better. Korritos can get a little messy when you bite into it. Best part is that they used some proper kimchi! Next best thing — the chunks of beef which doesn’t fully remind me of bulgogi but still really good. Another major plus for Kimchiary– sometimes market stalls really frustrate me because the wait is really long unnecessarily but Kimchinary had a streamlined process. You queue, pay, take a number and step aside. Really, this is as good as it gets!

There’s this trend I’ve seen lately. It’s taking all the things you love about different cultures and wrapping it up into a burrito. Or a taco. And this is exactly what Kimchinary does. I love me some Kimchi. The sourness. The spiciness. There’s just something about it. Apparently they started out making authentic stuff like lettuce wraps. Also apparently, they found out that no one wants to eat lettuce wraps(or something). So they started making tacos. Then burritos. Awesome. I had a burrito. It was bulgogi braised ox cheek(I assume that’s just ox cheek braised in a bulgogi sauce). There’s kimchi rice, slaw, and home made mayonnaise. And who knows what else. All I know is that I wanted to shove it into my face so hard. The flavor combinations were absolutely fantastic. And it’s wrapped up in a convenient burrito for easy eating. Except it’s kind of messy, so it wasn’t THAT easy to eat. But it didn’t stop me from stuffing my face with it. Eat a Korean burrito at Kimchinary. Seriously. They’re one of those Kerb traders, so find them in your favorite Kerb location.
