A bit hidden away from the busy Oxford Street, Julia’s Meadow is a café. This little café uses fresh ingredients, and provides quick, friendly service for takeaway or dining in. Clearly they cater to the office crowds and one of my work colleagues swears by them. He says the sandwiches are the best. Try the jubilee chicken sandwich that’s not on the menu(chicken, sweet corn, mayonnaise, onions, sun-dried tomatoes). I have been here twice and both times I got the salads instead of a sandwich. Ultimately I was sold when I saw they had shredded carrots and raisins(sounds weird, but so darn good). I don’t think they bake their own breads/pastries, but the croissant is really good, and at 80p, it makes it even better than Pret. The only thing is, I asked for roasted chicken breast on my salad, and both times, they tried to give me only half of a chicken breast. They were reluctant about giving me the whole piece, but they did anyway and I don’t think it cost extra.

A small, gourmet sandwich joint for very reasonable prices. They make bespoke sandwiches and have a variety of fresh bread and appetizing ingredients. The service is quick and efficient, the eat-in tables are always filled, and at lunch there’s always a busy queue.
