Jam Circus is awesome. My course-mates and I went one Saturday night to relax, have a few drinks, and play some board games in order to relieve some of the stress that came with writing our dreaded dissertations. I hadn’t played snakes and ladders for years. It was just what I needed. Very cool atmosphere. This place is a gem.

decent little bar to get a drink in. We came on a monday so the place was a bit dead but my vodka and cranberry was good! using eager cranberry juice is always a good sign!

I’ve been to Jam for friends 18ths birthday parties, storytelling nights, pub lunches and even blind dates. It’s perfect for all. Its a spacious, trendy and unpretentious place perfect for drinks with friends. There’s always some great nights going on and will always exceed your pub night out expectations. If the drinks were cheaper and the food was more interesting I’d have no reason to go anywhere else. That saying they’ve got a great selection of beers and spirits that really does dump on anywhere else in the area. There’s lots of out side seating for your smoker friends and for watching the world go by. As there’s a chicken shop next door, it’s mainly teenagers getting chips, but hey hoe, it makes a nice change. If you’ve got an afternoon to wile away, pop in, ask for a board game and order a few rounds. Perfect.

I held my birthday party at jam circus last year and had a great time. Top tip. You can hire the back room for nothing, as long as you fill it full of friends. Staff are friendly and music is great.

Cosy, friendly and unique. The Brockley crowd is the right mixture of the young/hip and the were once hip/seen it all before. Not much pretence to be found in here my friend. A very commendable collection of beers to keep you entertained/drunk and plenty of nooks and crannies to have a good natter with your mates. Free wifi and a «chiiiiil Winston» atmosphere. I’m told the food is very good and the burger shouldn’t be missed. Live music too — we were treated to a very able singer accompanied by an electric harp. Nice.

I went to Jam Circus today for lunch and enjoyed my time there, the food was good, the staff great and the atmosphere lovely. The only thing that knocked this from being 5⁄5 was the smell of the loo which seemed to waft past every 5 – 10 mins which wasn’t very pleasant. Hopefully this is a once off and they’ll get that sorted as it’s a lovely place.

Nice chilled bar with a variety of larger and wines, great cocktail variety too! They have the occasional DJ too. Very broad clientele including the day time buggy brigade. Have been there several times and always enjoyed it. PS. has WI-FI too

Friendly café with nice decorations and big windows. I really like the café but the food was a little bit disappointing. My friend’s burger was dry and my fish was below average. Drinks were ok. They make nice coffees and hot chocolate. It’s listed as a «laptop friendly café» but the wifi is quite poor.

The Jam Circus is arguably Brockley’s most interesting pub, with a range of diverse beers, cosily lit rooms in different themes(including a 1950s-style sitting room), promotions, and live music on the weekends. The staff are young, friendly and competent, drinks are served until midnight on weekdays and 1am on weekends, and food until 10pm. Topped off by free wifi and indie background music, this is a very pleasant place to spend a few hours with friends or surfing the net. There are however two points that prevent the Jam from reaching pub perfection, namely the food, which I’ve found to be unspectacular(though the Sunday roast seems popular) and the cost of the food and drink, with pints starting from £3.10 for real ale. Nevertheless, this is still my pub of choice in Brockley and is well worth checking out.

ON the 28th november 2009 there’s a young lady who’s performimg a acoustic set here, saw her in october at the ‘Dirty South’ with her band, this is more informal and relaxed venue, her name is Gemma Mewse and i did hear that her debut albums out next year(only heard), anyway i suggest if you appriciate great vocal performer then this one’s a ‘MUSTSEE’ IT’S FRREOFCHARGE, which makes it all the more reason to go.

Been in a couple of times now and it’s well worth the 10 minute bike ride from my house. Very relaxing and welcoming and very helpful staff. After reading the other reviews, I can’t wait to try it on a Sunday!

We went to Jam Circus yesterday for Sunday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stumbled in from the cold, wet windy street to a warm, chilled out buzzing venue. We managed to grab a table beside the large open fire, warm ourselves up and drink lovely pints of Guiness until our huge plates of roasts arrived. Between us, we sampled all the roast menu had to offer, and it did not disappoint. I’d say the lamb was a firm favourite with roast beef a close second. This place is relaxed, well decorated(they even have a section which looked like a living room), warm, friendly, child-friendly and dog-friendly — we had our pooch with us and he was very welcomed. I’d go back again.

Running as a great complimentary venue to Moonbow Jakes the Brockley area has a growing number of chilled out bars to relax and unwind. Jam Circus has a very unassuming feel and is perfect for a lazy afternoon or early evening drink. As with Moonbow Jakes it’s a great place to have a coffee or beer, though JC offers better stead on the beer front with beverages available on draught should that take your fancy. Complete with sofas at the back, a reasonable menu for those suffering hunger pangs and a few cocktails for the adventurous drinker Jam Circus can appeal to a mixed crowd. Also keep an eye on the theatre next door, apparently the White Stripes pulled a secret gig there in the previous year!

Lovely food, lovely staff and a great vibe. Excellent for lazy Sundays. Get there early, order the spring lamb(they also do a great veggie roast) and grab one of the couches in the back — it’s like being in your own living room, just with kind people to bring you beer. On most Sundays they have a live set which, while not always to everyone’s taste, is quite a nice way to round off a weekend.

Jam Circus, 330332 Brockley Road. This bar has a great décor and chilled atmosphere with several sofas to relax into after a hard day at work. Teetering half way between Brockley Cross and Honour Oak Park it’s actually a gem of a pub to spend some time in relaxing with a pint or glass of wine. I can recommend the food as I was served up a hearty vegetarian bangers and mash on my Sunday afternoon visit as my friends tucked into their traditional roast dinner. In terms of cost we definitely got a sense of value for money but is probably a bit more expensive than your basic pub grub.
