Good value and large portions — the jacket potatoes are large, fresh and cooked to perfection with a massive choice of toppings! Specialising really works for this place. They also have bought-in other things like small tubs of ice cream etc.

This place is real rough and ready, but has some real working-class charm. Nestled on Clapham High St amongst two shops of tat and mobile phone covers, if you weren’t looking for it you’d probably walk on by. Even if you did spot it, you’d probably walk on by. But no! Do go in! Cheap and huge jacket potatoes with a large range of fillings. They even do hot apple pies. If i’m working from home or occasionally feel like some Sunday hangover carbicide i’ll get myself a huuge jacket and smother it with their beef chilli topping and maybe throw some grated cheese on for good measure. It’s not the Ritz, it’s not even the Ritz staff canteen, but it does a job and if you’re always sure to find copies of The Sun and News of the World to read/laugh at.

I wish I lived or worked near this place — I’d probably go most days! Really excellent, cheap jacket potatoes. They have a great range of toppings too. The aforementioned butter bean and spinach is an excellent and not often found topping, but my personal favourite is the good old jacket with cottage cheese.

This is so cheap and tasty it is brilliant. It looks a little tacky on the outside but when you get the jacket potato you forget about the surroundings! They have a huge range of fillings! Everything from good old cheese and beans, to jerk chicken or goat! The potatoes, plus knife and fork, salt and pepper if you want to take away is usually around £3 and you get a decent, well cooked meal. It gets busy at lunch times because of the price and it is dead centre on the high street. If you are in the area then give it a try!

From the outside, it looks like a chavvy greasy cheap and nasty caff, whose décor and design have not changed since 1981, and that wouldn’t look out of place in a shopping centre in Derby. However, the exterior masks the most delicious value for money grub you’ll find. This place is so un-Clapham, it’s hilarious. A large jacket spud, with tonnes of filling, for about £3, with a plastic knife and fork, a packet of salt and pepper, and if you want to you can get a cup of Ribena or Sarsparilla(what that is I’ve no idea) for an extra quid. The best topping is the spicy Butter Bean and Spinach. It’s just bloody lovely, there’s nothing more to say.
