After a day of walking around in London in rainy weather this was the first place we found to eat. Bright eyed and starving we were excited to try something new! BIGMISTAKE! The customer service was horrible I felt looked down upon and discriminates against possibly for being America?. They also had a lack of lunch time options. However they priced everything like they were high end. The only nice comment I can give is to the cleanliness and the portion sizes. My only advice for fellow travelers when your starving after a long day of sightseeing is to keep walking this place is not worth your time!

This place doesn’t have stellar food, but the location is magical. Straight across from it you can see Whitehall and the Millennium Eye. They also have a nice, quiet rooftop from where you can sit and watch the world go by. The process is pretty simple. You can sit and ask for table service or you can opt for self service. We went in twice for drinks and opted for the latter. You pick a tray, select your drinks(if you want cold beverages) and pay at the counter. If you want a hot beverage and/or a piece of cake or a scone, your pay first & then pick up the beverage and snack from its respective counters. Btw, the lemon drizzle cake was sweet and buttery and the memory of sitting and having it on the patio while overlooking the pond will stay with me forever.

The location of inn the park is fantastic! I sat on the rooftop and it was just gorgeous looking out into the park. The food I had was average — it was just a salad but it wasn’t the greatest salad I’ve had. The ginger beer I had also wasn’t the nicest but they both sufficed. If you are near the restaurant and need some food I would definitely recommend Inn The Park otherwise don’t go out of your way to go to this restaurant.

it would take me a whole paragraph to describe the magnificence that comes out of this place when you see it there, in the park. I think that it attracts lots of people this way, and when you top it with some excellent, freshly made food, I just couldn’t go wrong. Lunchtime is quite busy and despite that there’s a huge choice in their showcase, the food tends to disappear quickly. Be prepared to wait for a while if you go for lunch in the rush hours but it is definitely worth it.

Had the fish and chips… Delicious as it was at most the places in London. Other options include pre made sandwiches and salads The best part of this place was ambiance … Right in the middle of St James Park, so way pit stop when hungry. You have the option for waiter service or self service. Either way… It’s an easy, delicious, convenient food option.

The setting is so nice. Definitely sit outside if you can. I came for afternoon tea. Got the«Gentlemen’s Tea.» Really? Where is the«Lady’s Tea»?! Anyway… it wasn’t bad. The scone was really good. The little sandwiches were okay, the bread tasted like it was sitting around for awhile, perhaps. The little meat pie seemed the same. Everything is very small, finger foods. The biggest thing is probably the scone. But all together, it’s very filling(plus you’re drinking a pot of tea). I probably wouldn’t have this again, but I’d definitely come back to try other things. What a great little spot. :) Sidenote: You can sit in the restaurant section, or they also have a cafeteria section.

London calling — it’s been too long since I was last there. When I go back to see my favorite places I will be sure to include Inn the Park on my list. The last time I visited, I often found myself nearby St James Park in the afternoon, just around the time I needed a bite to eat. It was probably tea time, but my tradition was far simpler than the experience of going to Harrod’s. An order of scones and clotted cream was the perfect accompaniment to a quiet moment of people watching or reflecting by St James Park Lake. Inn the Park truly provides an urban oasis from the intoxicating energy of London. If you are visiting and want a plane to recharge, wander over to St James Park and visit Inn the Park!

Very nice inn in the middle of St. James’s Park. The interior is modern and functional. There are two areas in the restaurant, a self-service area and a waiters area. The self-service area is often more crowded and due to the large tables it is quite common that you let other people take a seat at your table. The café offers a variety of warm and cold snacks, e.g. soups, cakes, pies or muffins, and a range of cold and hot drinks. The prices are not cheap but fair. A big positive feature of the restaurant is that they offer free wifi access.

A comfortable respite from the tourist’s march from sight to sight. We came for lunch one sunny afternoon, and the setting in the park is simply gorgeous. However, half of the dining room was set up for cafeteria service, while a small part was roped off for waiter service. There was a bit of confusion at the desk as they realized that we were interested in being waited on, and not grabbing a bowl full of chicken curry from the line. What we did get, however, was a wonderful beer and a crustless fish pie with cheddar mash on top that was warming, delicious, and satisfying.

I often meet my beau here for lunch. The service is always excellent and the meals are very enjoyable. There is no better place on a nice summer day… great views of the park. They are also always tolerant of my young kids – which is always appreciated.

I had their full english breakfast which I would rate as ok. It is very unforgettable. The bacon strips were the best. The mushroom and grilled tomato were very average. The scramble eggs were over done and the black pudding did not seem up to scratch to the ones that I have been served before. The sausage was ok. This place has great location. It is a pity that they do not serve good food. The service is also just average. Whilst the waitresses are efficient, they lack finesse. What a shame, this place has a huge potential to become a great hangout!

I went to Inn The Park for dinner on a Thursday night. Last sitting is at 20.15, we were 10 minutes late; apart from being told off for our late arrival we were seated quickly. Our food was very good, the waiting staff were friendly(possibly over familiar). In summary, great food, stunning location, a good buzz in the dining room — I would recommend it.

Set in a beautiful London park with epic views of Buckingham Palace, Westminster and even the London Eye, Inn The Park is sitting pretty. On a summer’s day you can sit on the terrace and hear the huge array of ducks and geese and yes, Pelicans too! squawking and quacking as you tuck in to your plate of food, but this morning was a grey day so we elected to sit inside. The décor is super stylish and light-infused with the large windows. The café boasts gorgeous, sleek leather-bound chairs and has some really ace retro-orange formica tables and little vases of flowers. Cute. My friend ordered some bacon and scrambled eggs and asked for a sausage too, I wanted the girdle scones but was told they had run out. Overcoming a mini-sulk I ordered a round of toast and a Strawberry Flight a whizz-up of strawberries, pear and bananas and was a bit surprised when the waitress didn’t offer any coffee or tea. What is breakfast without coffee or tea? I mean really? Our food promptly arrived and my toast was missing marmalade there had been no delivery that morning apparently — and the toast was freezing. That said, there was lots of it and the Peyton and Byrne Perfect Raspberry Jam was just that perfect. My friend’s eggs, bacon and bangers were utterly beautiful. Top-notch and cooked to perfection. There is no faulting the integrity of the ingredients or the flair in which everything I have ever eaten from here is cooked. However, the service throughout breakfast was — like my toast stone cold and pretty perfunctory. And then there’s the cost. I am not known for my stinginess and I have been known to shell-out for good food. This is good food. But, but, but the ‘Half a grapefruit’ listed on the menu was £3. Josh’s single sausage came in at £2.50. The small glass of OJ was £3. Whilst not eye-watering the prices here are a little on the steep side Everything in the Inn is incredibly tasty and the setting is hard to beat. I left feeling a little like they could have tried harder with the service and our wallets was a lot lighter but I will certainly look forward to my next trip for a fabulous breakfast in the park(just hope the sun’ll be shining!)

I gave 3 stars mainly for the restaurant setting and location. It’s in the middle of St James Park so you can’t get better view anywhere else. If possible, ask for an outdoor table. A very popular place for sunday brunch, which means getting a table can take some time. The food is fine. But from my experience, I was more impressed with the surrounding rather than the food itself. One last thing: if you can, refrain from using their toilet. It is a stark contrast to the beautiful view outside. Maybe because it’s a busy restaurant, the toilet gets wet and dirty very quickly.

A perfect setting in St. James’s Park and a perfect place to rest our feet between touring Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. The star of the show was not the bucolic view as we had anticipated, but the artichoke drizzled with hazelnut butter and mustard seeds. Its been a week since we lunched there and we are still thinking about it! The artichoke was as big as my head! My husband enjoyed his charcuterie plate and I enjoyed a sample of cheeses. Those dining next to us had delicious looking entrees. I recommend a visit for the artichoke alone!

This placed used to be fantastic but it’s changed recently and not for the better. The food is good but expensive and we were suprised to see an extra charge on our bill because we’d had scrambled eggs — we hadn’t seen this on the menu when we ordered. The reason is that they use more than one egg. Service was really disappointing — curt, disinterested and unhelpful, which really is a shame because the food itself is nice.

Breakfast here is a real treat and I like to bring visiting friends before we begin our day of sight seeing. Sit back and relax before the crowds arrive whilst watching swans glide past on the lake… such a lovely way to start any day. Inside is very open and well lit with the large windows, so if it’s too chilly to sit our on the nice terrace, inside is just as good and you can still soak up the view whilst tucking into the food. The décor is designed by Tom Dixon(most famous for his dropping copper light shades) and I really wasn’t expecting such a nicely designed area, not to mention comfy seating in what is essentially a park caff. I usually get a «choose your own» style full English breakfast where you can do just that, choosing from a really tasty selection of sausages, bacon, eggs and sides. The ‘Dry Cured Organic Streaky Bacon’ is scrumptious and although the ‘Beef Dripping Fried Bread’ is very naughty it’s also very good. I tried duck eggs the last time we went and you can have them in any fashion you like. If you have a sweet tooth I’d recommend the ‘Cinnamon Pancakes with Banana’ drizzled with maple syrup. Serious thought has gone into sprucing up the standards of public eateries here, but I can imagine it could go horribly wrong later on in the day as the park fills up so I’m sticking to the mornings.

Set in the heart of the small, but incredibly beautiful St James’ Park, is this fantastic restaurant. I came with family and friends, and we sat outside facing the lake. On this warm summer evening we ordered a couple bottles of Prossecco, soaked up with slices of fresh buttery bread. My main of lamb shanks was so juicy and had just the right amount of fat on it, I gobbled it up in a blink. I was completely content and this was due to the relaxing ambiance, being tucked in the midst of trees and flowing water, along side such palatable food, the constant flow of alcohol, and of course the amiable company. It was one of those unforgettable meals which lasted for hours, fueled by stimulating conversation. Simply faultless. You can also enjoy breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea, or simply pop by for a cup of coffee.

Inn the Park, genius name, genius location and what a wonderfully quirky building in the middle of St James Park. I love the curved wooden walls and the rooftop that you can access via a slope, though this is probably saved for private functions. Many a hot and cold beverage has been enjoyed on the outdoor deck, inside and on the benches that rest on the outside walls that allow you to sit and watch life go by. I love the worn out effect of the wood now, admittedly I was disappointed when they didn’t varnish it to protect the wood but understand the point of allowing it to be weathered by the elements to blend in with its natural settings in the park. At night it becomes a more upscale affair rather than just serving tourists and is probably quite romantic overlooking the pond and its swans. They serve really nice sandwiches and sell a very nice apple juice too because it’s grainy and tastes real. I love the wooden cutlery you can take away with you food, it kind of reinforces the effect of the place, that everything is sustainable, recyclable and as eco-friendly as it can be.
