What a special dining experience this was. It was our last night in London and we knew we wanted curry. I did some research and found Indian Zing. I had dined at Tayyabs in the past and it wasn’t in the area we needed it to be. We are so happy to have found this spot — no doubt it’s a gem as the locals know it well. It’s a smallish restaurant with a very attentive, pleasant staff. White linen table cloths — slightly dressy, not really all that casual. At 7:30pm on Friday, there were just a few other parties dining, however by the time we left, the place was packed with large parties and the restaurant fully booked for the evening. Reservations are a must on the weekend nights. OpenTable is your friend. We started with Papadam with relish, raita, and chutney which was good; pretty standard stuff. From there, the bar rose promptly… Zing’s Prawn Lonche is worth trying. The serving is very small — even for two people, but the presentation was beautiful and the flavors were intense. The pickle and the eggplant rounded out the dish. The Malabar Chicken Curry was my favorite. The heat and the sweetness from this beautiful curry dish was unlike any curry I’d even have. The brightness of the fresh herbs on top was lovely. We also had the Lamb Dhansak(essentially Saag) which was also really nice. Spiced Spinach with fenugreek and dill leaves and basmati rounded out the meal. The«by the glass» wine list is short, but they have some nice bottles and beers. Great friendly service, excellent fare. Locals seek this place out — definitely worth the price tag and worth seeking out. We will be back next time we’re in London.

Definitely among the best Indian places I have eaten. I had the appetizer platter along with fish curry items.

I guess I was lucky to have stayed in the hotel cross street during my short trip to London. Felt sudden hunger after 9PM, then went for this Michelin recommended restaurant for late dinner. Yes Michelin recommended and they did not lie about it. Decoration was nice, polite staff. Food was fantastic. What surprised me was the sauce came with it. It tasted fruity sweet and spicy — great aid for appetite. Will visit again if ever I have a chance.

We came here for anniversary celebration before. The taste and service are very good, but the price is a little bit higher than average, might find better deals around the areas.

Best Indian good I’ve ever had. We started with one of the recommended bottles of wine– the Les Templiers Cabernet Sauvignon. It was beautiful to drink on its own and paired perfectly with our dinner. Our server sat us down and immediately served us a small cup of hot pumpkin soup which was gorgeous. After that the service declined slightly– we ordered papadoms which never showed up. But all was forgotten when the food arrived. oh my gracious so yum. I ordered the chicken korma(which does not come with rice!) and it was a dream. My husband ordered the vegetarian thali and enjoyed EVERYTHING. This place truly is next-level Indian cooking. It’s classy, tranquil, and so comfort foody! If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend it for a classy dinner date, or as a place to take and impress your foody friends. It won’t disappoint. Slow service, but honestly all that seems like a distant memory… I’m in a food coma…

When it comes to indian I don’t mind paying that bit extra to bring the taste buds alive with incredible rich spices and good quality meat or seafood. I don’t like the standard curry where you can taste there has been no love or passion into the intensity of the flavours… hence why zing is a great name choice for this restaurant which serves the best curry every time!

Very good quality food and great service, but it is definitely on the pricier side of Indian restaurants. Starter portions were relatively small and price difference to main dish versions of them was minimal so it’s better to order the main dish version even if you are not too hungry.

Transiting in London on my birthday and decided to grab a nice curry meal with a friend. This location is right by the metro station which was great because of the cold night. Immediately when I stepped in my attention was grabbed by the relaxed yet classy atmosphere. I really enjoyed my meal too. I shared a Prawn and Aubergine Kharphatla with my friend, the serving size seem quite small but had incredible flavour. For main I picked the Fish Shirale which again had a sensational flavour and just the right amount of spice. However I thought my friend’s Chicken Makhani was a bit too sweet. We also had naan bread as accompaniment instead of rice and it is pretty good. I also had ordered a mango lassi which was a bit thicker than I’m used to and not sure if I really like the additional herbs/spices they added — I would prefer a strong mango taste. Arrived around 6.20pm and had an attentive service that started to slide at the end of the meal and had to wait a while for the bill to arrive…

Dark and moody with a very busy LOOKING staff, but my experience is that they’re not really attentive. In fact I’ve started this review as I’m waiting to order!!! I got a little bored sitting here with my menu closed so I decided to start typing into my phone… Slowly… I just now counted the 4th person to pass me AFTER I initially said I was ready to order. …and finally someone took my order. Why did I stay you ask? Although I am anxious to order and eat, it was quite a jaunt for me to get here and it’s drizzling, so I could use a moment to sit. However, I’m doing takeout(cuz I’m eating alone and would prefer to do so in the comfort of my hotel room with the Telly on) so my «sit» will hopefully be shortlived. This fiid bettah be good cuz they can’t rely on ambience to impress me… which it would. The food was fine, might’ve been more enjoyable had I experienced it in the restaurant. Ultimately I’d say it was really pretty, romantic even, but they could use a little more attention to customer service… for all customers.

My wife was pestering me to visit this place for a while now, but the reason I decided to go was mainly the good reviews I found here. I had a pretty high expectation, but this place didn’t disappoint me. The food was prepared excellent, staff were all very friendly and welcoming and overall I think I will be visiting it quite often from now on. A heads up for first timers here– when it says spicy it means the seventh circle of hell spicy, so be careful with your order.

We went back here again for a quick bite after work and were pleased to see it was still knocking out great curry at reasonable prices in smart surroundings with lovely service. The beautifully carved original indian door set inside the restaurant is a good guide as to what to expect. Food that’s authentic and goes a little further than the normal local curry house. Lots of stuff on the menu you’ve never heard of. Always fun. The breads and the dals are particularly tasty. Lots of tasty condiments to go with the poppudums. Our one quibble was that the sauces that came with the curries seemed to pack a little less punch than we remember but it might have been our imaginations. The service is lovely. The surroundings comfy and there’s a really good atmosphere in there. You probably pay £15 more for two people than you would in a bog standard local curry house but without a doubt it’s well worth it. A little jewel in Hammersmith and well worth traveling to if you’re not from the area.

In London gibt’s genügend Alternativen!!!

I went into this restaurant predisposed to like it because I’ve read so many good reviews, and it didn’t disappoint. The service was impeccable: it and the interior were what you might expect from a much more expensive restaurant, but Indian Zing is really reasonable for such upscale food. Everybody I was with loved their food. The flavours were perfectly blended, fresh, delicate yet memorable. The portions are generous and I left with that kind of healthy contented feeling you get from really good food. Not sure I should give somewhere five stars after only one visit and sampling just a few dishes but I’m going for it. Also! They had coke in glass bottles. ps there was even A Celebrity dining in!

The first time I went to this place I would have given it a 5 star review. Sadly on our second trip, with friends, it was pretty shoddy service and pretty average food. I want to give this place another chance since it’s one of the only Indian restaurants that uses free range meat but I’m hoping their service has improved. Or I’m coming back and downgrading to 2 stars.

I have mixed feelings about Indian Zing. The first time I went there, I thought that the food was fantastic and the atmosphere was welcoming. The menu is diverse and you will find many unique dishes in the restaurant. The quality of the ingredients is high and the overall food experience is very positive. The second time I went there, I found the service quite cold and distant. I felt more like a «transaction than a customer». The food was still very good but when I asked questions about dishes I didn’t know, I had the impression that I was bothering my waiter… Clearly not enjoyable. I will give this place another try as they do have good Indian food and offer a very diverse menu. The place gets packed because of its good reputation so I strongly recommend booking for dinner. Nice for a couples dinner or a with a few friends.

Delicious food, elegant restaurant and awesome staff! I can say that this has been probably been my best indian meal outside india. The fish curry was tasty and perfectly spiced, such a fresh fish on it! the scallpos and the prawns for starters were also delicious! We did not have any desserts, but I was also impressed with the Lime juice… really nice fresh lemonade! This will be for sure one of my «must visit» places every time I go back to London!

This place was great. I had a wonderful lamb dish here. Also, the naan was fantastic. For the price, I think this place is a no-brainer, even if it’s not in the middle of the city.

It’s not often you see spicy calamari on an Indian restaurant’s menu. And I’m not talking about those rubberised hula hoops of flesh that get served up in many places. On a recent visit with my mum and her mates, we guzzled succulent, spicy great slabs of squid. The monkfish brochette which followed was also exquisite. Superb fish is just one thing that sets this place apart. The atmosphere — always buzzing — and décor, which is refreshingly crisp and modern also make it a must-visit.

Wow. What more can I say? I am, this morning, full of the joys of Zing. And, in a few minutes, thanks to the vast doggy bag we brought home, I shall repeat the feat. Think Tamarind /Zaika in terms of ingredients, subtleties and flavour combinations. Think Tayyabs in terms of serious, mouth-tingling spicing. Then put it all in a setting that’s as friendly and welcoming as Mela. I would happily trample members of my own family for a plate of Lamb Salli(lamb minced with fenugreek, mint, coriander and spices, and all stuffed with paneer), the sinus clearing heat of Green Peppercorn Malai Tikka or, particularly, the Kachumpulli Pork. Yes, you read that right. Pork. And it was a toss-up between that dish and Beef Xacuti. As one of the exceptional, friendly staff explained, Manoj Vasaikar’s cooking is about the food, not the religion. He’s bringing Indian food into the 21st Century, combining all possible influences and ingredients. Best of all, Londoners — particularly those in the Hammersmith /Chiswick area — get to enjoy the journey.

Me and two friends visited Indian Zing on a Friday evening when it was very busy and fairly lively for an Indian. I decided upon the jumbo prawn speciality dish, it was pretty impressive and came presented on a banana type leaf and the prawns had been flame cooked which adding to the taste. my friend ordered the Lamb Dhansak with dill, pumpkin, aubergine, tamarind, fenugreek & lentils which as a fan of the Dansak which tasted good but not great(yes I persuaded her to let me taste the sauce). My other Friend ordered a chicken dish which she said was okay. The prices are reasonable and the service is good. I like this place and would recommend it. Although it is not outstanding in my opinion, I would recommend it if you are restricted to a local place. If not, check out my other reviews.

A lot of people are missing out on this one, it is one of the best in the area and maybe even in London. As it is not central to Hammersmith, it is a bit of a walk from the Broadway might be one reason that it has not been found by everyone and rammed every night. Good news in my opinion as you can still get in easily. Numerous awards adorn the windows which gives you an idea that what is to follow is going to be good. The Owner has worked in many renowned restaurants and hotels and has a reputation for his food. No need to talk about how good the décor is etc as it is all good, Go there for the food and you will thoroughly enjoy it. I have never heard a bad word spoken about his place and I doubt I ever will, it is that good. You have been told, If you don’t go it will be your loss — trust me.
