I wanted to like this place. It was highly recommended to me by a friend who frequents it and brought a few of us with her to try it out. Maybe it was because there were several parties on that night, but the service was disjointed, the food underwhelming and we left feeling like the meal cost a lot of money! Several in our group thought the same. The highlight of the meal was the Meruli Khachapur, which is flatbread stuffed with Georgian cheese. Maybe the cheese is really expensive but we all felt the flatbread wasn’t worth £7.50.(The prices online aren’t 100% correct, it was more in the restaurant!). I tried the the Ostri(beef stew) and Chaqapuli(lamb chops). The beef stew came with potatoes and was fair for the size for £9.50. The lamb however, came with bread and cost £15! I love lamb, and the flavour of the dish was great. I wished it came with the same potatoes as the stew and was maybe a bit bigger. Oddly enough, when I ordered the lamb, I was recommended against it, but I thought it was not bad. The staff were nice but there were a few misunderstandings which left us all a bit confused. From the good word of mouth, I’d be up for trying Iberia again but will order with more caution.

This place was great. We ordered the cold meze, which were extremely good, and nicely different from middle eastern meze. The«cheese bread» was fantastic. For main courses, we had some very spicy chicken, and a lamb stew — again, both very good. The Georgian wine was also good! Service very attentive.

I visited Iberia yesterday evening with some Russian friends. It was the first time I had tried Georgian food, so my review may be a little biased, but I was very very pleased with both the food and the dining experience and would definitely visit again. For the starter we had a cold meze which was very tasty, also a selection of breads. For a main course I had flat fried spicy chicken served with new potatoes. Both things were absolutely delicious. The owner of the restaurant was very polite and welcoming, and was very attentive throughout the evening. I visited on a Sunday evening, and it was very quiet. I haven’t visited during busy times, so I’m not sure how the service would be then, but it is a fairly small restaurant and the staff seem as though they would be capable of handling busy nights. I did have ice cream afterwards, and I have to say. there was quite a lot of very large frozen bits of ice throughout it… and it wasn’t very pleasant. Although… it was my fault for not going for an authentic georgian desert. My friend ordered a traditional slice of cake, and having tried a little piece of it, it was absolutely delicious. I am still giving it an excellent review though despite this, as it was a lovely evening, full of delicious food, and great service. The décor is also absolutely lovely, and it is a very modern, clean restaurant. There were lots of little candles scattered around the restaurant and it had a very cosy atmosphere. It would be nice for a romantic meal. Iberia is somewhere that you have to try!

You don’t come across many Georgian restaurants on your typical high street. I fell in love with Georgian food when I visited Russia over the summer. To summarise in a simplicist way, it’s pretty much your meat and potatoes but with a refreshing mix of herbs and spices. The meze for 2(hot and cold) my favourite thing on the menu(and not because I was hungry!). The georgian corn bread was a little underwhelming but nice to have as a side with the meze. I had the Ostri(beef stew) which was kind of like a beef curry to be honest. The Khinkali was tasty but didn’t think it was much different from the buns/dumplings you can get in Chinatown. The roast trout was prepared well but found it a little bizarre with the plum the sauce. The Iberia special was tasty but nothing wildy different from regular roast beef.
