I had heard a lot of good things about Holy Cow and a few menu items were suggested to me, but I must say I was not impressed. A group of us got two chicken dishes and a lamb dish, and some rice. The rice was hard and extremely dry. The sauces were good, but the chicken was very dry for one dish, and crazy dry for the other. I have had much better Indian delivery at much better prices. I don’t think I would ever try Holy Cow again.

Ive been using Holy Cow for a few years now. I love their modern take on curry. My favourite is the murg massala, which is very tasty and moorish. They’re quite pricey but for the quality i dont mind paying for a special treat once in a while. You can order online via their website now which is very handy. Theyre always friendly on the phone and mostly delivery takes an 45 to an hour.

So so sad. They were great seriously above average and worth the high price tag. No longer. Several times now my order has taken double or more the estimated time to arrive, cold food, items forgotten and when I’ve rung to complain no come back and tonight even the audacity to lie i. e we’ve rung the bell and phone and delivered but you weren’t there only when I refuted this did they back down(with no apology). The truth is they did call(having said it would be 3040 minutes for my one dish) after one hour and said it would be another 5 or 10 minutes. Actually it was another half an hour. They said they would refund my card for the missing raita but didn’t ask for my details so obviously won’t. Such a shame but despite being a weekly customer for several years I’ve had enough now. Recommend you avoid them too. Perhaps then they’ll raise their game and win back a bit of customer loyalty.

Only ever ordered delivery from here. Holy Cow is a franchise and our delivery orders all come from the Kilburn location. We consistently order delivery from here and it’s consistently excellent. They’re not afraid to spice the dishes properly and don’t back off for western palates. Also, it’s super-affordable. 4 dishes for 2 people(around £35) gives us leftovers for a 2nd meal. As I said, we’ve only ever had delivery from here but I’m curious about the actual location… Favourite dishes: bhindi bahji(okra), lamb bhuna.

Id read such good things about Holy Cow, and loved the menu so all excited we ordered a modest repast for 4 from HOLYCOWARCHWAY. It will be 55 minutes — well that’s ok time for a couole of drinks, at 20past nine I called them — it will be another ten minutes I will refund you the cost of a main meal — I will take 5 pounds off. Dandy except most of the mains are 7 and above. At 25 to ten our food arrived — well some of it well less than half of it — out of 11 items 7 didn’t arrive I called them — yes many apologies — I will send it out now — at 1030 it arrived and the driver phoned from the street — presumable to ask how to get into the estate altho the entry phone is clearly visible — i presume that’s what he wanted as he didn’t speak any English, neither did the woman who answered the phone in the shop 3 times and who, at one point hung up on me. In fairness the food was good, total lack of grease altho a kebab surrounded by almost raw onions and green pepper wasnt brilliant, but not worth the hassle and the hunger and the anger. Holy Cow what a cow.

TERRIBLE. They took 90 mins to deliver the food(which was very average) two roads away and were totally unapologetic. Infact they were quite rude on the phone after putting me on hold for 5 mins.

I’ve ordered in from Holy Cow about 9 or 10 times and have never been disappointed. They’ve got an amazing variety of vegetarian dishes, all of which have their own uniquely rich flavours. So often, many vegetarian dishes at Indian restaurants seem allto be slight variations on a single theme — not so at Holy Cow. Also, the vegetables are always cooked to perfection — the okra is never slimy and the cauliflower never crumbles when you cut it with your fork. Finally, the telephone service has always been impeccable — bright, efficient and polite.

I’ve tried a few Indian takeaways around the Kilburn area and this place is definitely the best. Sure on a Friday night it could be an hour wait — but that goes to show how popular and good they really are! The portions are huge, and easily be split between two people. And I find is no more expensive than any of the other takeaways I’ve gone to in the area. Always has been my takeaway of choice.

I disagree with the other two reviews. It is more expensive than some other local takeaways but I’ve found the portions to be much bigger so we need to order less. I’ve found the person on the phone really helpful and easy to communicate with the 4 times we’ve ordered now, and although they have said around 50 minutes delivery time, they’ve always arrived in that time. It does seem healthier than other Indian takeaways, much less grease sitting on top of the curry. I will definitely continue to use them in future because I think they are good value for money given the quantity and the quality of the food.

Recently opened just off the Kilburn High Road, Holy Cow styles itself as a cut above your average Indian takeaway. The contemporary décor and open plan layout(you can watch the chefs work) are certainly different and very pleasant. The food is a bit different too, it’s fresh and much less greasy than many of its nearby rivals. Their fish dishes are great, I love the Machli Malekhu(curried cod!) and their menu says they’ll create you a special dish if you can’t see anything you’d like — although I’ve not tried that out. The problem is the price — it’s at least 50% more expensive than any other Indian in Kilburn(expect to pay £8-£11 for a main dish without rice) but not 50% better. Worth an occasional visit for the variety, but it won’t replace either Ruchi or VJs for me.(NB it’s just a takeaway — no eating in)
