The first two times the food was good, then it started getting worse each time. Last night we ordered king prawns that were so bad they were inedible. They were quite rude and only offered to compensate with a side dish that had to be taken right away. We won’t be ordering there again

A fantastic little Indian takeaway… The dishes are a real good mix of North and South Indian cuisine. You have to try the Saliza king Prawn, the prawns are so fresh and soft that they almost melt in your mouth. The tandoori roti’s are also good and they stay nice and soft when delivered. They do not have an extensive menu, however, this is real Indian food cooked well.

Perhaps the best take-away curry one can find in South London for sure. I’ve never tried the the Putney or Battersea locations, but the one in Balham hits the mark. Unlike some ‘fast food’ curry take-aways that drip with oil, I could definitely taste the freshness of the ingredients. I’m a freak for spicy foods so i usually order the lamb achari but have also gone with the lamb rogan. neither have ever disappointed as not only are the spice levels where they need to be, but the flavors match the spice levels. I left out the 5th star only because of the price. They do give out free poppadoms and the mango chutney freebie is off the chains. Keep in mind that it is take-away and delivery only. If you’re willing to pay a little extra for quality, I highly recommend!

Consistently top-notch Indian delivery service. Becoming a little pricey recently but the ingredients are good quality, the delivery is reliable and the food tastes just fine. Recommended

This is THE Indian to order for take-out. From time of order the delivery time is around 40mins during the weekend, and perhaps slightly less on a weekday. The food is always hot, tasty and never a dissapointment. We tend to order the same food each time but never get bored of it. The chicken masala is delicious, and my fiancé tends to order the bulsari salmon which he cannot fault. All in all, Balhams best indian takeaway service.

Really good curry — the Lamb Achari is to die for. Only disappointment was the Kemal naan which didn’t seem to have much meat in… Delivery can take ages, but given it’s just down the road, we tend to pick up :)

I had very disappointing experience with this fast food take away shop! i order food, the person on the phone was very rude, food was not good cooked, and amount of food was very small, and was very expensive, onion bhaji was very nasty test, when i call them back and copmlain about food, answer was — we don’t care! So, i never order food any more at this fast food shop! Stay away from them!

A friend was raving about the quality of the food here so we ordered a meal for three of us on a Sunday evening. We were told it would be an hour after they had taken payment so decided to stick with it as rumour tells it is worth it. An hour and a half later we eventually got a very grumpy delivery man, no apology and a pretty average curry. I don’t think the nice packaging is enough to justify any extra stars as it was a pretty disappointing experience all round.

I hear recommendations for the HC in Battersea, but the two times we have tried its sibling in Balham it has been disappointment all round. Stone cold both times. Cold bread, cold chewy squid, in fact the worst squid I have ever had, and tepid main courses. Gave it the benefit of the doubt after the first order, but even worst the second time. Maybe one should collect it as it is only 1.5 miles away although I guess that defeats the object of a delivery service. Price, quality, delivery time and condition when delivered is enough to make you say Holy cow!
