This is an expensive place to be a member but arguably worth it if you don’t mind paying around £125 a month and a hefty joining fee and fancy an uncrowded place to work out. What you get for your money is a sleek sports centre with 20m pool and indoor tennis courts, large gym and smallish studio, covered parking(with valet parking and car wash for additional £) and not to many other people there to share the space with. There is a free crèche and a nice club lounge area with restaurant/café, newspapers that have mostly vanished by early evening, and a sunny roof terrace with lovely plants that are well cared for. It is tucked away down a side street off the Harrow Road W9 in the arse end of Madia Vale/Hill almost under the Westway flyover next to a few council housing towers, so how they justify calling this Notting Hill beggars belief. But it does mean that you have an interesting urban City scape from the running machines as vehicles whizz past you at eye level. The 20m pool has a bit of natural light and it is not unusual to be the only person in there. The studio is a bit small but has a reasonable selection of classes, usually with small numbers of participants. The down sides? Sometimes so empty it lacks atmosphere. So ‘family friendly’ that the lounge area can be like an out of control nursery riot, with spoilt kids throwing food and running round screaming at the top of their voices while their nannies or mothers defend their right to behave like this, eventually leaving the place looking wrecked.
