Great little korean supermarket with owners always up for a chat despite my terrible korean. Unfortunately it closed a few months ago. Their blog seems to suggest that they may reopen at some point, but where and when is still a mystery.

I’m not claiming Korean culinary knowledge but I love food and this place has some great supplies for those in the know or those like me who are willing to take a chance. Sesame chili oil is a simple favourite from here. Excellent for noodles and sesame seeds and a whole lot more.

Hanna, is a Korean supermarket. A favorite of my Korean colleagues. Yes, they have KIMCHEE! There are some products that you may not be familiar with. So, it’s best to bring a Korean native with you. Next time, I’m bringing Shin Young. This place could use a bit more lighting. They also have a small café downstairs that serves food, from spicy noodles to bibimbap. All for a good price.

Hands down the best Korean grocery in central London. If you’re ever looking for six types of kim chi, buckets of gochujang the size of small children and any number of mysterious Korean snacks, this is the place to go. It’s not huge, but it has a wider range of Korean products than any of the other stores in the area. As far as I can tell, it’s one of the only Asian markets that stocks exclusively Korean or interesting-to-Koreans products. For example, frozen corn dogs. There’s also said to be a good snack bar downstairs, but I haven’t tried it yet.

Ok, this is called Hana(not Hannah) Hana Supermarket is a useful gem hidden up in Bloomsbury near UCL and the British Museum. Little Hana is a Korean grocers, making a bit different from its counterparts in Soho(Japanese) and Chinatown(Cantonese). It’s a godsend for those who want to try their hand at cooking decent noodles or rice but don’t want to trek out to the specialist shopping areas near the North Circular or down in New Malden. Obviously the kimchi is in good supply here, but they are also flush for sauces for most chinese styles and their high-quality rice selection is second-to-none. For me the draw is the fresh cut tofu. So white, like an albino bunny rabbit.

This is a Korean Supermarket located between Goodge Street Station and Tottenham Court Road Station. You can get a variety of Korean food and cooking ingredients here. It is very popular with students especially as IT serves food down stairs. It is only £4.50 for a bowl of spicy beef with rice and soup to go. Great value and tasty too! One downside is that the place is quite dark and dilapidated, can be quite daunting for the first time. Still worth a visit though, it has gone an alternative sense of attraction.
