This is a fantastic place for steaks and their traditional Argentinian dishes are delicious too. Really friendly service.

Have been there once for brunch and once for steak and each time was really, really good. gotta love a place with consistency. For brunch I had the Desayuno Garufa which was far too much food(in the best possible way)! My boyf had a burger with garlic fries and I took more than my fair share of those. I’d go back just for the fries! The steak was pretty meaty and quite moist, with the added benefit of keeping me full for the entire day. Nice staff, very close to my house, a winner!

Very out of the way, but if you are an Arsenal fan you will find yourself up this way. Great steaks, fab sides, prime service. The wine list delicious and reasonable. The grilled provolone starter a must, the herb chips the best. Get chimichuri sauce aside your steak. You’ll thank me later.

Breakfast of steak, sausage, mushroom, eggs and a Bloody Mary. If this doesn’t appeal to you please check with a doctor because you may be dead.

I’ve never eaten Argentinian before. It wasn’t bad at all(and I’m a veggie)! I had a tasty green salad, the sweet potatoes and this amazing warm pastry called an empanada. Spinach and cheese. Amazing! I had a margarita from the bar, which was without the bells n whistles(i.e. no crap hanging off the glass) and it’s simplicity(and strength .haha) was more than enough to call it a decent cocktail. Oh, and I had a dessert. The bread pudding(I’ve posted a photo so you will know what you’re ordering; seeing as I didn’t. It was okay, sweet, comforting). All in for around 20£ quid(even though they forgot the complimentary breadsticks, wait what? Which slightly impacted the tip I left) I think it was a pretty pleasant experience. It’s been said before, but yes the staff are friendly. Would I go again? Maybe, but I can’t think in what situation. Perhaps if a friend fancied a steak or something. Apparently, this review is looking pretty epic. Good God, the level of CCTV in the UK is getting out of hand. There were no intrusive cameras in Gurafua that I noticed. Go! It’s a decent restaurant.

Well, I can say I’m lucky to have a reasonably priced steakhouse in my neighbourhood. My sister and I went for the rump steak with onion rings and courgettes and rib eye with sweet potato side. Rump steak was dissappointing — was very chewy and dry, so stay away from this one. However the rib-eye was nice and juicy — the way a rib-eye should be. I also liked that you don’t have to go for a monster portion of rib eye — they have range of sizes, including a convenient 225g. Sweet potatoes were nice — I’m a fan of those and always prefer these to usual fries — it’s a lot healthier than normal potatoes. Sangria was good and refreshing — on a hot evening with open windows we just did some people watching while sipping on the replenishing drink. Desert(I tried some of my sister’s) — dulche de leche — was reasonably sweet and light. Atmosphere — don’t expect Gaucho here, but rather a nice and almost homely feel. All in all — a good steakhouse — just make sure you order your favourite cut when you go there. If you don’t like rump you’re not going to like it here. there. anywhere!

5 stars for the food but loses one because of the prices. We’re not in Chelsea! Keep it simple folks — no need for a starter, the small size Bife de Chorizo(sirloin) will do the job perfectly. You’re paying extra for the sides, even the sauces. This place is set up and run by Argentinians, very well done.

If you like steak you’ll like it here. A nice local carnivore establishment with very friendly staff.

This place served up friendly service, good steak, and good chimichurri. I ate there a while back so can’t remember too many of the details – I think the one disappointment was the bill-a tad bit pricey for the style of food, atmosphere and neighborhood.

I‘m really fan of Garufa. It is not typical pub, full with drunken guys and noisy people. Garufa is Argentinian restaurant focusing on the food. The steaks here are magnificent! Last time we tried one of their specialty Parrillada Mixta. It is a dish for two and I lick my fingers. Garufa is one of those gems that is worth to write. Go there and you will LOVE it.

Ah Garfua — if you want one of the best steaks in London head here! The food is as quality as Gaucho but without any of the pretencious décor and smarmy wanker banker types. It’s not cheap, but by comparrison you get much more bang for your buck. Get your steak rare, your chips with garlic and loads of that delishious butternut squash mash… and compliment your food with one of their rustic, smokey Rioja’s. Quite simply one of the best meals that I can think of. veggies and pescatarians don’t fret… Garufa has something for you too. They always feature a seasonal fish(the tuna steak is fantastic… yes I even broke from my steak ritual once to try it) and they also offer pasta and risottos for the non-meat eating peeps. Do yourself a favour and get over to Garufa!

Go for the breakfast, it is epic. Steak… mushrooms, suasages, bacon… and the best bloody mary. The guy even came over to our table and topped up our drinks with extra vodka! Happy Sunday morning!

This Argentinian steak house is distinctly more upmarket than any of its neighbours on Highbury hill, and partly because of this, it’s been a welcome addition to the area. Not too much say about the food, the meat is great and they know how to cook it. I can also highly recommend the humitas(creamed corn) to start with. Prices aren’t cheap, but then neither is good quality cow, and you don’t have to have huge chunks as potions start at a reasonable 225g. They also do other things(fish) but that’s not why I’d come here, if you really want to get stuck in, the mixed grills especially look great. The wine list includes a decent selection of reds from south america and further afield, including a good range of malbecs, my steak partner of choice. There is plenty of choice under £30, although if you want to splash out you can spend a lot more. Service is very friendly and relaxing, and the atmosphere generally makes this a great night out. Pricing generally is definitely ambitious for this part of town(you can probably count on spending £50+ a head with wine), and I do think they might be pushing it slightly with some of the mark-ups, but this is still the best local option by some distance for a bit of a treat, as is shown by the fact that it is almost always busy(even for weekend brunch), and you will need to book.

I was let down a bit with Garufa. I came with the 2 for 1 tastecard deal and although i enjoyed the steak, the veg was off and the chips were a tiny handful of oven chips. Hubby had asked for a bottled beer and didnt get the bottle just a filled up glass, which always fills me with suspicion. I probably wont be coming back. Im keeping it at three stars as i have had a nice few lunchtime stop offs here for a quick coffee and sandwich.

The meat is fantastic and the restaurant really nice. Wine selection is good as well and the staff friendly. Of course all this good comes with a price, but it’s so good that you don’t mind the final bill.

Without a doubt one of the best straight steak restaurants in North London. If you’re looking for a great steak and red wine combo you should definitely give this a go. The only reason it’s not five stars is that it can be quite pricey, sides are extra, and it stops you really going all out… that’s probably quite a greedy reason to withhold a star… The twist to the butter makes bread the best starter

I would undoubtedly give this place 5 stars if I had tried anymore of their menu, but so far I’ve just done brunch and coffee. I’m saving that extra star for after dinner, which I can’t imagine is anything but spectacular. Their coffee is probably the best I’ve had so far(and I have done extensive research in attempts to replace my crappy American filter coffee habit) in London and their breakfast is nothing less than enjoyable, easy, affordable, and delicious. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming and the décor of the restaurant is just as warm. I stare longingly at their wine selection, but it’s usually too early to order any. Maybe once we’re in the dead of winter I will be motivated to break societal conventions and just have a bottle of wine with my eggs, but it hasn’t happened, yet. Their dinner menu looks delicious, anyways, so I’m sure I’ll be in there to sample it soon. Oh, F it. I’m just going to give this place 5 stars. I can always update it later, and it doesn’t deserve to be ripped off that last star for my shortcomings(i.e. my low salary that requires me to eat dinner at home most evenings). Especially in the Finsbury Park area, places like this are rare to come by.

I love this place. They have great coffee, do cheap breakfasts that taste AMAZING(get the scrambled eggs), and their burgers are to DIE for. The staff are always really friendly, and everything is really good value. A neighbourhood gem!

Steak for breakfast you say? Well I bloody well don’t mind if I do. I’d been tipped off about Garufa by someone who’d travelled across town to get here — someone who’d rated everything highly but mostly couldn’t wait to come back for breakfast. Most excellent I thought, while also quietly congratulating myself for choosing a house within staggering distance of steak that people would spend many many tube minutes trying to reach. Breakfast still may be my favourite meal to have out. It’s the start of the day, and usually the weekend, plenty of time ahead to do everything and nothing. Often it’s the atmosphere in restaurants in the morning that I like the most — relaxing and quiet with the clatter of teacups and saucers. At Garufa it was spot on. I ordered the Argentine Breakfast unthinkingly. Well — it’s obvious, isn’t it? The signature breakfast — 150g steak, Argentine sausage, scrambled eggs, tomato, mushroom and toast for a tenner. After ordering I noticed there were a number of order-worthy dishes on there, including the steak sandwich(I’ll be back for you you beastie) and the Argentine omelette. But before long it arrived — a lovely fat bit of meat, chunky spicy sausage, buttery gooey(perfect) eggs, a whole mushroom topped with cheese and garlic, the tomato and loads of white toast. I suppose you could call it an indulgent breakfast. Having said that, it’s not that expensive for what you’re getting(a big cough cough at all those purveyors of the £8 eggs benedict in this city). Garufa is a great spot for breakfast and, judging by what I’ve seen and heard walking by of an evening, it holds up for the rest of the day too.

Being a local I must say this is a great addition to the area. The food is absolutely awesome, especially the Argentine steaks which are incredibly tasty and succulent. Service was very good, far better than any Gaucho restaurant. The only bad thing about the place is that it’s quite expensive for a local steakhouse, no matter how good the food, service or ambiance. I’d still recommend it for its quality.
