Gail’s Artisan Bakery

Luv this place so worth a visit. So many gorgeous tempting goodies. They have a menu till 3pm with savouries, pancakes, soup, sandwiches, cakes and much more.
They sell hand made sourdough loafs and other hand crafted breads. Cakes, scones and wonderful organic, natural jams. I loved the blueberry compote that was served with the incredible light fluffy blueberry buttermilk pancakes. On another day I had a chicken escalope coated in parmasan cheese and bread crumbs in a beautiful slightly sweet brioche bun with salad, gherkin and chilli jam Mayo, ¹⁰⁄₁₀. The scones with cheddar, onion & sage are light and gorge.
The Down side is this café is small with not many tables. This week they were slow at clearing the tables and the service was a bit hit and miss. A warm welcome as we entered but after this the service was flat, such a shame as this place has a lot going for it. However because the food is so good I would not be deterred from going back again and again. I often take goodies home to prolong the pleasure. Xoxo
