Wouldn’t let us in even though I had ID. Said we couldn’t enter because 20 people were a big group. Do not use if you wish to have a function as they are opposed to offering group functions.

Not sure with this one. A pub with 3 sky tv feeds, so you get your sport here, but it is also a bit old school block bench paint it black. Small pub garden not great but acceptable. Drink selection is ok, but not many ales, magnets and rekordalig for cider. Food choice is ok, burger was fine for the price, plate small as they try to keep with trend. It is a harsh 2 star but generous 3.

We went there to watch a football match and the people, the place and the service was good. You could watch different matches on the tv screens as they were playing two different important matches. Wouldn’t mind coming back again if I am in the area.

Ah! The Fox, always there at it’s average best whenever I need it. Pro’s of The Fox: It’s cheap — most lagers are under £3(I think Fosters is about £2.30p(ish). They have Sky Sports and ESPN as well as multiple flat-screen TV’s so if the football is on it’ll always be shown in here and if two games are on they’ll show both games at either end of the pub. They do this with other sports too. It’s not too far from my flat(helpful for me at least). For a cheap pub, it’s very clean. It has an outdoor area and a Pool table should that interest you. Helpful and friendly bar-staff. Con’s of The Fox: It gets busy to the point of crowded, especially in the evenings or when big/popular sports games are showing. There are always loud, small groups inside. I don’t understand the social-science but it’s one of those pubs that always seems to have vociferous people inside. There you have it. The Fox. They also offer food — it’s OK, neither a pro or a con. I find The Fox unspectacular but useful, not the best pub in the area but convenient. A trustworthy establishment tried and tested not to exceed expectations but good enough to keep me coming back. TTFN, Ian

The only reason for visiting The Fox is to watch sport and you can’t be bothered to walk to pubs with a big screen near Putney Bridge. Pretty much every game is shown here and you can usually get a spot near a screen. On no account be lulled into getting the food, no matter how cheap, or the ale, which tastes like it’s been kept badly. The regulars, which seems to consist of 18−21-year-old teenage girls and middle age men who should no better, are entertaining if you enjoy watching Jeremy Kyle shows yet-to-be. The Fox is by no means awful and I’ve been in many similar looking bars which I’d never want to put a foot in again. The Fox doesn’t reach this level, and I’ve occasionally nipped in to watch a game, but given the quality of pubs a short walk away, why you’d ever want to make this your regular is beyond me. Unless you’re one of the aforementioned clientele above.

Let’s be fair, you don’t go here for good quality food, but you can eat pretty cheaply. It’s handy if you want somewhere that’s guaranteed to be showing the most popular game on TV, that’s about it.

This is a pretty horrible pub. We had a a drink and a meal and neither was up to scratch. Food smelt of grease and was luke warm.

Probably because the Whetherspoons opposite is bigger, more obvious to the untrained eye as a landmark and dead opposite the station I often orget about the Fox. Although over the Christmas 08 period the local SW6 football derby between Fulham and Chelsea meant I had to find a new after match drinking hole because it was just so busy everywhere and trouble was in the air after Fulham’s last minute equaliser. Walking away from the ground and towards Wimbledon along the 93 bus route we finally came to the Fox. It had everything me and my party needed that afternoon. We dreamt of cheap booze, value for money food and Sky sports to watch another game. I must mention that not only was it easy to get served, despite it being busy, but the staff were cheery, the clientele trouble free and the heating on full blast which was great in the near zero cold outside. They have some pretty crazy food offers. Three of our team picked up an all day breakfast and a pint of Guinness/glass of wine for a bargain £2.99. The quality wasn’t great if any of us are honest, but with a drink offered at about £2.50 anyway this was a great deal if a little greasy. I would return to eat here another time and might even make it a post match stop after Fulham FC home games in Putney. The Fox is part of the Town and City pub chain.

Located a stones throw from Putney Station, The Fox is a great place to watch sports. They show both Sky Sports and Setanta so if you want somewhere to go and see the game this is the place. They have a good selection of quality draught beers, however the only minus point is the drinks prices, which are a little steep — a pint of Heineken will set you back £3.30. The bar staff are friendly and it never takes too long to get served. Overall a nice pub.
