‘Firezza’ are a UK mini-chain comprising 10 outlets in London. I have only ever tried this Chiswick branch but have heard good things from friends about their other branches. The first thing that needs to be said is that Firezza makes the best«Italian style» pizzas that I have personally ever had delivered to my home. I have tried other places that claim to offer a Neapolitan pizza but once it arrived it was no longer hot and the crust was hardening. Firezza manage to avoid that somehow and it is even possible to warm it up the next day in an oven without it tasting like cheese on cardboard. The pizzas come in 12″ round ones OR ½ metre oblong shapes! Toppings wise I generally have their excellent pepperoni and the chorizo sausage is good too. The atmosphere on eating in was relaxed and quiet on the one time I ate inside. The delivery service on the phone & arrival has always been solid. As for competing Italian Pizzerias in Chiswick I prefer Firezza to ‘Caffe Piccolo’ and ‘Tarantella’ and just slightly over ‘Strada’, ‘Zizzi’ & ‘Pizza Express’ chains. ‘Franco Manca’ makes an excellent pizza that is at least equal to Firezza but a limited menu, small choice of toppings and obviously no delivering service mean they are not quite at the level of some of the other names mentioned but they could be a serious contender for Chiswick’s best pizza. As it stands Firezza is the champion!

I have used this pizza joint quite a few times, and I have to say I didn’t find it as bad as the other reviewers. I am quite a critical pizza lover! There is one thing you should know, however: If you want takeout pizza, take a walk five minutes down the road into Chiswick, and grab one from Franco Manca, which does takeout. The pizza in Franco Manca isn’t merely superior, it is positively five star because they use fabulous ingredients and have well-trained pizzaioli, and a damned good pizza oven. Not to mention the sourdough which is baked in store. With the aforementioned restaurant, you will benefit from economies of scale; it is always busy, and your pizza costs around £2 cheaper. More to the point it is far better.

Firezza baffle me. They price their pizzas by ¼ metres but you can’t actually buy a ¼ meter. You can get a round pizza though, but it’s more expensive than the ¼ metre which you can’t buy anyway. So once you’ve done your calculus and worked it all out it turns out the cheapest pizza starts at about £8.50. Ouch. Expensive. Compare with Franco Manca’s £5 pizzas that are little larger, 10 times tastier and 5 mins down the road. No contest. Firezza does more variety in pizza toppings and side dishes, but the potato skins I had were terrible and cold and everyone knows that too many odd toppings ruins a pizza. Sorry — not good. So do Firezza do anything worthy of 3 stars? Yes, yes they do. Not only do they do fast delivery including wine, but they have all sorts of deals all the time… «Any round pizza for free for every house on our street?» Yes please!

Had a very average pizza(arrived cold with sparse toppings). Gave them another try and thought highlighting this would make a difference. It didn’t so won’t be going back…

Trapped in no man’s land between Kings Street Hammersmith and the Main Chiswick High road is this small but perfectly formed pizza joint. It does what it says on the tin, so it isn’t going to blow you away but it will offer you quality pizza at a decent price. I guess the down side to the place is that you need to go a bit off the beaten track to find the place and parking will probably be difficult. If you can put up with that then give them a go. I have been going there for few years and I have never had a bad experience. This part of town does tend to have bars and restaurants come and go, so hopefully a few will hang around and make it a bit more of a place to go. Finger crossed Firezza. Takeways too which are… Well like a takeway pizza.

There’s not much difference between Pizza Express, Zizzi, Strada and Firezza when it comes to food, décor, or anything really. They are all outstanding chain restaurants and all have a branch in Chiswick. But what really makes Firezza stand out is not the woodfired taste but the sheer inventiveness of its toppings and the fact you can buy your pizza in fractions of a metre. I know it doesn’t make a blind bit of difference whether you use metric or imperial, but I like having both. Maybe it’s because I’m a Gemini. Still good food, good takeaway, nice restaurant, nice staff. So far, so Italian chain restaurant in Chiswick.

Having heard a lot about Firezza mostly that it’s the best pizza delivery company in London we took the plunge and ordered. This was only after we’d tried Domino’s and their system was down so they couldn’t take our order. I ordered online which was fairly easy, but the website could do with describing what’s involved in each pizza, rather than just showing the names. It was marginally cheaper than Domino’s(which is now ABSURDLY expensive) and it took Fir-ages to come. Well, it took over 45 mins and it wasn’t a traditionally busy day or time. By the time it arrived it was pretty much cold and to top-ping it all off I didn’t like the taste. It had a sort of a slightly acidic after taste. Additionally the pizza was not sliced, which is obviously not the end of the world but it does make it a bit inconvenient and convenience is the whole point of delivery pizza, surely? Overall, very disappointing, but might give them another try if Domino’s is unavailable again.
